CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE

The leadership of the Warrap State Students' Association in Upper Nile University - WSSA-UNU extends its heartfelt congratulations to Cde. Promes MJ Malual, also known as Malual Majok Tong, on his election as Chairman-Elect of the Warrap State Students' Association at Dr. John Garang Memorial University of Science and Technology.

Both Upper Nile Universityand Dr. John Garang Memorial University of Science and Technology are located in the same region. However, due to the 2013 conflict that displaced us, our university is currently operating temporarily in Juba.

Despite this, we share common values, goals, and the spirit of unity as one academic community.

OPINION ON THE TONJ SOUTH YOUTH UNION CONSTITUTION REVIEW

Subject: Proposal to Use "Communities" Instead of "Payams" for Representation

Dear Chairperson and Members of the Committee,

I write to share my opinion on the ongoing review of the *Tonj South Youth Union Constitution*.

After careful consideration, I propose that the Union adopt "Communities" as the basis of representation instead of "Payams.

Justification:
1. Administrative Stability: Tonj South has seen the creation of many new payams. Listing all of them in the constitution will make the document bulky and difficult to manage.
2. Avoid Constant Amendments: Using payams as the basis of representation will require frequent amendments to the constitution whenever a new payam is created.
3. Unity and Inclusivity: Organizing representation by community will promote unity, clarity, and long-term stability within the union. It ensures that all youth are represented without division.

Proposal:
For representation in TSYU, I propose that we adopt the five main communities of Tonj South as follows:
1. Apuk Juwiir
2. Thony
3. Muok
4. Yar
5. Bongo

Under this structure, all payams within each community will be represented. This approach will prevent confusion, avoid exclusion, and strengthen unity among the youth of Tonj South.

I believe this model will enhance peace, cohesion, and development within our union.

Thank you for considering this proposal. I trust the committee will deliberate on it in the spirit of unity and progress.

Subject: Appeal to Expedite the Opening of Tonj Alexandria University for the Greater Bahr el Ghazal Region

Your Excellency,

I respectfully refer to the statement made by H.E. Hussein Abdelbagi Akol, Vice President and Chairperson of the Service Cluster, during the Peace Rally in Kuajok. He rightly observed that many students from Warrap and Northern Bahr el Ghazal complete secondary school but have nowhere to continue their education, as not all families can afford universities in Juba or other distant towns.

If the Egyptian government is unable to open Tonj Alexandria University on time, I respectfully appeal to Your Excellency’s leadership to take responsibility for it. As an alternative, the institution could be renamed and established as *William Deng Nhial Memorial University, Juba*, to honor one of our founding fathers.

In line with the Vice President’s appeal for a university to serve Warrap and Northern Bahr el Ghazal, I wish to remind you of Tonj Alexandria University in Tonj. Opening this institution would benefit not only the people of Warrap State, but also the entire Bahr el Ghazal region and beyond. It would give our young people access to quality education closer to home and enable them to contribute meaningfully to the development of our nation.

I therefore appeal to Your Excellency to prioritize the opening of Tonj Alexandria University. This will address the yearning for higher education expressed by our people.

The stage is set for an exciting conclusion to the European club football season with the three major UEFA finals confirmed.

In the UEFA Champions League Final, Arsenal FC will face Paris Saint-Germain at the Puskás Aréna on 30 May.

The UEFA Europa League Final will see Aston Villa F.C. take on SC Freiburg at the Beşiktaş Stadium on 20 May.
