14th Independence Anniversary of South Sudan πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡Έ

Today, we joyfully celebrated the 14th Anniversary of the Independence of South Sudanβ€”a day to honor the resilience, sacrifice, and unwavering hope of our people.

During the Holy Mass presided over by Fr. Baptist Kerim, Rector of the Major Seminary, we were reminded that even in the face of challenges and uncertainty, we must never lose hope. β€œThough it may seem like there is none, we must continue to hope and to pray fervently for peace and unity in our country,” he encouraged.

In the same celebration, the cassocks of the first-year philosophy seminarians from the Diocese of El Obeid were blessed, marking an important moment in their spiritual and vocational journey.

As we give thanks for our nation’s independence, let us remain steadfast in prayer for a future filled with peace, healing, and unity for all South Sudanese. πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡Έ

Franciscan Priestly Ordination – June 29, 2025

A truly grace-filled moment as Deacon Peter Hassan, OFM, was ordained to the Sacred Priesthood by His Eminence Stephen Ameyu Cardinal Mulla on the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, at Holy Trinity Parish – Nyakuron.

The liturgy was rich with Franciscan spirit, solemn prayer, and joyful celebration. The presence of the faithful, religious, and clergy made the day all the more special.

As I share these moments captured on that beautiful day, let us continue to pray for Fr. Peter Hassan, that his ministry may be fruitful, humble, and deeply rooted in the love of Christ.

Celebration of the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul

Today, His Eminence Stephen Ameyu Cardinal Mulla presided over the Solemn Celebration of the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul at Holy Trinity Parish – Nyakuron.

Originally scheduled for last Sunday, the celebration was postponed due to pastoral reasons and was joyfully held today.

During the Mass, 14 Acolytes and 25 Lectors were formally installed, marking a special moment of commitment and service in the life of the Church.

We give thanks to God for the gift of these ministries and for the ongoing growth of the Church in faith and mission.

"Dearest brothers and sisters, with deep sorrow I must announce the death of our Holy Father Francis. At 7:35 this morning, the Bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the house of the Father.
