Governor Jadalla Presides Over Swearing-in of New Commissioners
Juba, August 5, 2024 (CESGPU) - H.E. Gen. Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani, the Governor of Central Equatoria State on Monday presided over the swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointed County Commissioners of Yei, Lainya and Morobo at the State Secretariat.
The newly appointed Commissioners are Hon. Emmanuel Taban Seme for Yei River County, Hon. Robert John Moris Lasu for Lainya County and Hon. Charles Tata Bullen for Morobo County.
Governor Jadalla directed the newly appointed Commissioners to focus on addressing the issue of insecurity in the Counties and promoting close relations between the citizens and the government.
“There are a lot of challenges; there is an issue of cattle herders, there is an issue of holdout groups, there is an issue concerning environmental changes because today there is a lot of rain causing displacement and this is one of the insecurities,” said Governor Jadalla while speaking to the Commissioners.
“So that there is good security there is something you need to do and this is the unity of our people, the unity of our people is important,” said the Governor adding that “you be easy, be flexible. Leave people to access you and assess you so that you listen to them. Open your doors to them.”
Speaking on behalf of the newly appointed Commissioners, Hon. Emmanuel Taban Seme, the Commissioner of Yei River County appreciated the Governor and H.E. Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit, the President of the Republic South Sudan for appointing them as Commissioners for entrusting them with the leadership of the Counties.
“Your Excellency what we want from you is only the support especially in terms of security stability in the Counties. If we manage to calm the situation in the counties then we shall have a sleep night,” said Seme.
On his part, Emmanuel Khamis the former Commissioner of Lainya County speaking on behalf of the outgone Commissioners pledged to work together with his successor.
“I am going to support my brother Robert and the other colleagues,” said Khamis.
