OBITUARY: Eye Radio Mourns the Death of "The Dawn Show" Presenter Emmanuel Joseph Akile 🕊️

JUBA — The Eye Radio family is devastated to announce the passing of veteran journalist Emmanuel Joseph Akile, who died today at Gudele Hospital in Juba after a brief two-day hospitalization.

For over a decade, Akile was the voice that woke up South Sudanese every morning. A household name across the country, he has served as a presenter of Eye Radio’s flagship program, The Dawn Show, since 2016. Known for his professionalism and deep understanding of national issues, he played a crucial role in informing the public through his coverage of the Addis Ababa peace talks and, most recently, the Tumaini Initiative in Nairobi.

His passing comes as a profound shock to the media fraternity. Akile had only just begun his Christmas holiday leave last week before falling ill.

Earlier this morning, a delegation of Eye Radio staff visited Akile in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to offer prayers and deliver a medical fund provided by the CEO and management. While we held onto hope for his recovery, he sadly passed away later today.

"Akile was a resourceful journalist and a dedicated colleague whose contribution to the media landscape in South Sudan is immeasurable," the management stated.

We offer our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, media community and the entire people of South Sudan during this time of deep sorrow.

8. Don't Say “I’m Tired” – Someone in the waiting room has been “resting” for 3 years and is ready to replace you.

9. Hide Your Qualifications – If they know you have more papers than your boss, promotion will disappear like airtime.

10. Don’t Be Too Friendly With HR – They smile with everybody. They can hire you today and fire you tomorrow.

11. Learn New Skills – Even if it’s how to restart the office WiFi. Be useful.

12. Don’t Refuse Tasks – Just say “no problem” then panic privately.

13. Avoid Long Lunch Breaks – You’re not on honeymoon. Eat fast and return to work.

14. Keep Your WhatsApp Status Clean – Posting “I’m tired of this job” will reach the CEO before you finish typing.

15. Respect Office Tea – Don’t finish the sugar. People get fired for less.

16. Avoid Loud Phone Conversations – Someone will hear “I hate my job” and forward it to management.

17. Use Office Equipment Wisely – The photocopier is not for printing wedding invitations.

SUPPORT WITH EXPECTATIONS:

we know many with South sudanese politicians heart. they only giving supportive with the expectations, and riches.

many leaders are not working for the country, they rather working for president. that's why one the leader put it clear that, they are working not for the nation but for president.He is actually clear.

And this is a country where we are living, the country producing money in the name of the country and it's own citizens.

if this wasn't the pile polls of tribalism, and military ethnicity leading every sectors of governance, was there going to be economical and outrageous political hazards like this? no!

therefore, if the same leaders who are currently representing to be our own leaders, we are going to be suffering so much continues more than these.

The main problem of ourselves, we are people who pretend on our problem. we don't tell the right thing to your brother and sister, even to your leader. That's why we chose democracy as Democratic nation.

A democracy was voted to reduce corruption, tribalism, ethnicity and creating rooms for the election.

leaders should refrain from expectancy leadership. work for the nation and make some changes, not with negative attitude.
