Press Release
Ref: Inclusive Peacebuilding Through Dialogue Among Communities

The Bureau of Religious Affairs at the Office of The President, in collaboration with peace partners, hosted a two-day conference on inclusive peacebuilding through dialogue among communities from 10th -11th July 2025. It was attended by traditional leaders, women, youth, Faith Based Organizations, and stakeholders involved in the implementation framework for harmonizing the policies and roles of peace partners. The resolutions were adopted on August 7th, 2025, at the Guest house of the Episcopal Church of South Sudan. Due to ongoing conflicts among grassroots communities in the country, it has created numerous social problems. These issues are strategically outlined in the implementation framework, with a focus on the key areas listed below:
• Insecurity
• Hate speech
• Land dispute
• Safe Civic Space
• Trauma and intercommunal relations
The efforts to harmonize reflect earlier initiatives led by the churches, which remind us of Kejiko 1,2, the west bank Nilotic peace conference (wunlit), and now call for the implementation of Kejiko 3, which serves as a guide for collectively addressing those key issues. However, the involved stakeholders include crucial peace and governance institutions led by the South Sudan Council of Churches, Bureau of Religious Affairs, Local Government Borad, UNMISS, NCA, various civil society organizations, and peace partners. This task is a duty for peace advocates, as expressed in Matthew 5”9- “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.”

🕊 🙏🏿All Souls’ Day🙏🏿🕊
(Commemoration: November 2)

Today, on the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed or All Souls’ Day, we pray for all those who have died. The month of November, especially All Saints Day and All Souls’ Day, is a traditional time for visiting the graves of loved ones. We are called in a special way to pray for the souls of all the faithfully departed on this day. “O Lord, support us all the day long, until the shadows lengthen, and the evening comes, and the busy world is hushed, and the fever of life is over, and our work is done. Then in your mercy, grant us a safe lodging, and a holy rest, and peace at the last." - John Henry Newman
