“A word of thank you to those who helped us locate my father.
I want to take this opportunity to thank and appreciate those who were involved in helping us to locate my dear beloved father, Mr. Deng Atem Angui, who went missing yesterday after he lost his way back home from his comfort tea place in Hai Referendum.
He was found healthy and safe this evening at 5 PM local time in the Gurei suburb. At the time he went missing, he left his phone at the charging place, which made it difficult for him to call any one of us.
He walked on foot from Hai Referendum to Gurei searching for a home, and when he couldn't find the house, he checked in at a local hotel (lodge) in Gurei, paid only 15,000 SSP he had with him, and spent a night there.
He got up this morning and resumed his walking journey searching for home until he met a young man from Turalei, Twic County, this evening at around 5 PM, who had known my father since he was young.
The young man identified as Mr. Adhar Athuai Ring-Aguet, who came across multiple posts on social media about my father missing, said that he found him walking on the roadside and called him, "Dengdit, and said that I heard you went missing." My father replied, "Yes, I can't find my way back home since yesterday up to now."
From there, the two of them then sat down on the roadside, and Adhar introduced himself more to my father and how he knew him from Turalei and went ahead to call my younger brother Ambrose Guotdit, and my brother immediately went and picked him up.
At this point, on behalf of our family, we thank God for protecting him and for answering our prayers. We also thank Adhar Athuai Ring and everyone who was involved in one way or another in searching for my father. We are thankful to all of you for the sleepless night you had with us as a family.
