Juba — South Sudan’s Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Gen. Paul Nang, has ordered armed youth from Twic East County and Tonj East County to immediately surrender their weapons to the relevant authorities.

In addition, the CDF instructed these groups to return all cattle taken during raids to their respective payams.

⚠️ Warning: Failure to comply will result in military action against violators, according to official statements from the SSPDF.

AU, EAC urged to hold Tanzania’s President Samia Suluhu accountable over protester suppression

Dar es Salaam — Civil society organizations and human rights advocates have called on the African Union (AU) and the East African Community (EAC) to hold Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan accountable for the government’s ongoing crackdown on peaceful protesters.

According to rights groups, security forces have allegedly used excessive force to disperse demonstrations calling for political reforms and economic relief, leading to multiple arrests and reports of injuries.

Activists are urging regional bodies to intervene and ensure accountability, warning that continued silence could embolden further violations of democratic rights and civic freedoms.

The Tanzanian government has not yet issued an official response to the growing international criticism.

Breaking News | Burkina Faso 🇧🇫

Ouagadougou — Burkina Faso’s transitional parliament has dissolved the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI), calling it a “waste of money.”

Under the new directive, the Ministry of Territorial Administration will now be responsible for organizing and overseeing future elections.

President Ibrahim Traoré described the former electoral body as a “channel for foreign influence,” emphasizing his administration’s continued effort to assert national sovereignty and reduce external interference in state affairs.

This move marks the latest in a series of steps by the military-led government to consolidate control and distance Burkina Faso from Western-backed institutions.

Breaking: Nhial Deng Nhial Breaks with Kiir, Warns of Possible Armed Resistance

In a dramatic turn in South Sudan’s political landscape, veteran politician Hon. Nhial Deng Nhial has officially severed ties with President Salva Kiir, raising concerns of potential armed resistance after being labeled a “rebel” by Gen. Paul Nang, Chief of Defence Forces.

On October 15, 2025, Nhial launched the South Sudan Salvation Movement (SSSM), accusing the SPLM government of corruption, authoritarian rule, and failing to uphold its founding principles including holding elections, which have been stalled since independence in 2011.

Tensions escalated further when General Nang publicly branded Nhial as an “enemy” and linked him to the “Red Belt” in Bor a term historically associated with military targeting zones signaling a shift from political disagreement to a possible confrontation.

In an interview with the BBC, Nhial said that while he prefers peaceful solutions, he may consider armed resistance if the government continues its oppressive path. He called Kiir a “dictator” and accused the current leadership of betraying the ideals of liberation and peace.

Political analysts note that Nhial’s defection echoes past SPLM divisions, particularly among the Garang Boys, senior figures loyal to the vision of the late Dr. John Garang. His move is widely seen as a revival of these ideological struggles, intensified by ongoing insecurity and governance challenges.
