The incident occurred on Thursday, September 25, 2025, in the Awan Riau area of Gogrial West County. According to reports, the driver of a Land Cruiser lost control, causing the vehicle to veer off the road and overturn.

Young Girl Dies from Menstrual Complications in Warrap - Family confirms

Twic Mayardit is mourning the death of 19-year-old student Akuac Ayuak Nhomchot, who passed away on Sunday after battling severe menstrual complications since 2023.

Akuac, a Senior Three student at St. Augustino Secondary School, reportedly suffered from excessive bleeding, according to Mayardit FM’s Ater Oliver.

Her death has devastated classmates and family, while also raising urgent concerns over the lack of menstrual health support in rural areas, with calls for swift action from both government and NGOs.

𝐉𝐮𝐛𝐚, 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏9, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 — The Vice President of the Republic of South Sudan and chairperson of the infrastructure cluster, H.E. Gen. Taban Deng G*i, received updates from Governor H.E. Amb. Bol Wek Agoth on the current situation in Warrap State. Governor Wek said he successfully toured most parts of the state engaging local authorities and leaders on strategies to restore peace, stability, and address the challenges of infrastructure in the state.
The Governor described voluntary disarmament efforts as progressing well underscoring the role of traditional authorities in influencing the process resulting to relative stability across Warrap.
H.E. Taban Deng G*i thanked the Governor for restoring stability specially in greater Tonj areas which had witnessed spiraling violence prior to his appointment.
The Vice President urged the governor to integrate service delivery in his security approach.
Governor Wek stated that his top priorities include addressing the challenges of clean drinking water, improving feeder roads, education and boosting local production.
One vital challenge to his security policies is lack of prison facilities in major towns of the state.

“We have a challenge of standard prison facilities even within Kuajok City - the capital of the state “. Governor Wek stated.
The Vice President, Taban Deng G*i, appreciated the efforts made by the governor and encouraged him to double his efforts to bring total stability in the region. The vice president also noted the importance of infrastructural facilities in maintaining security and stability among communities. Gen. Taban promised national governments’s continued support to states and local governments to bring total tranquility across the country.
