SUBJECT: POSTPONEMENT OF CHAIRPERSON DEBATE

The Independent Electoral Committee (IEC) of the Atar Youth Association hereby informs all members, candidates, and the general public that the Chairperson Debate scheduled for today, 27 March 2026, has been postponed.

This decision has been made due to circumstances beyond the control of the Independent Electoral Committee.

A new date and venue for the debate will be communicated in due course. We sincerely regret any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and continued cooperation.

Tension Rises as Journalists Block from Covering Riek Machar’s Court Hearing — AMDISS Demands Access!

The Association for Media Development in South Sudan (AMDISS) has shown concern after independent journalists were stopped from covering Dr. Riek Machar’s court hearing held on Wednesday at Freedom Hall in Juba.

In a statement released today, AMDISS asked the authorities to allow all accredited reporters to attend and cover the case, saying the public deserves clear and truthful information.

The group also reminded journalists to follow the Media Code of Conduct and respect court rules to build good cooperation with security officers keeping order at the event.
