MARTYRS DEBATE TOURNAMENT - MDT

We are pleased to present to you the martyrs Debate tournament that's scheduled to 29th - 30th July 2025 in Central Equatoria State, Juba

The tournament is organised to remember and celebrate the sacrifices made by our heroes and heroines whose blood cemented the foundation of South Sudan.

The tournament is open to all debate teams from secondary schools and S.4 leavers who are interested to celebrate the sacrifices of our fallen martyrs during the liberation struggle for the independence of South Sudan and besides the registration is scheduled to Thursday 24th - 26th July with only 12 teams needed for the tournament.

Good News from Gogrial East County

Mr. Mathiang Mayuot, the SSRRC Coordinator, has completed the new South Sudan Rehabilitation Relief Commission (SSRRC) office in Luonyaker Payam, Gogrial East County.

The new office will help improve emergency response, disaster preparedness, and community support in the area.

Mr. Mathiang thanked all partners and community members who supported the project. This shows SSRRC’s strong commitment to serving the people of Gogrial East.

In efforts to improve digital inclusion and learning opportunities for students, the National Communication Authority - NCA together with Digital Rights Frontlines -DRF have partnered to launch UniNet, an affordable WiFi service designed to support connectivity on unive campuses.

The first installment of this initiative was done at Upper Nile University. This initiative aims to connect over 1,000 students, making daily internet access more accessible and affordable thereby helping to bridge the digital divide in higher education.

The NCA remains committed to advancing education through enhanced connectivity, ultimately building a more connected and empowered academic community
across South Sudan.

BCPT management with the counties' chairpersons, coaches, and captains passed into laws the bylaws for BCPT 2025 edition.

The meeting was presided over by the president of BCPT Mr. Majok Ayar Chieny.

The tournament will kick off on the 31.07.2025 with the match in group A between Jur River County and Tonj North county at Juba National Football stadium.

The president and the counties' authorities of Bahr El Ghazal agreed pending acceptance from Abyei Football authority that Abyei as a special administrative area will come with the two teams to make a total of 24 counties drawn in four groups of 6 teams each. From the initial 23 teams drawn during draws, there will be an additional one team from Abyei AA to make a total of 24 teams in BCPT.

The winners, runners-up, and third position winners of BCPT will walk away on the day of finals with 25,000,000 ssp, 15,000,000 ssp, and 8,000,000 ssp, respectively

The counties authority assured the maximum respect of all the bylaws ascended into laws today for the betterment of BCPT. They also stressed the perfection and neutrality to be exercised by the technical committee such that problems are not encountered like it was with the BCL.

We all hope for the peaceful beginning and ending of BCPT 2025.

The Governor of Warrap State disseminates the State of Emergency in Malual Muok

Wednesday, July 23, 2025 - Malual Muok Payam, Tonj South County

H.E. Amb. Bol Wek Agoth received a warm reception in Malual Muok Payam on a mission to expedite the dissemination of the State of Emergency to the community prior to the Government taking charge of disarmament.

"I have chosen persuasion before I use force." exclaimed Governor Agoth in his statement before the gathering. "I want to reconcile my communities and restore our historical values of coexistence that made us a strong civilization." He continued.

During his remarks, Gen. Juma Rehan Deng called on the community to salvage themselves from abject poverty that is induced by conflict that is triggered by proliferation of fi****ms and hence urged them to surrender guns to the Government at the pace of a State of Emergency.

In his closing remarks, the Governor appreciated the Chiefs who have already began surrendering guns including their own and he urged the gathering to keep an eye on the price of uplifting our people from poverty.

H.E. Amb. Bol Wek has consistently maintained in his tour that he intends to achieve peace and transform Warrap State community by stimulating youth engagement, triggering productivity and prudent utilization of our natural resources.

Governor Amb. Bol Wek Agoth and Gen. Akol Ayii Madut delivered financial support and material support in form of flour and assorted items such as beans and oil for distribution to conflict affected persons.

SUBJECT: LT. GEN. GARANG MABIL DENG.

The subject, well known to all freedom fighters alive, have excelled in his humble patriotism, love, and zealous concern about his colleagues' welfare, dead or alive. Gen.Garang never misses visiting homes or hospitals of his sick comrades. He attends funerals, and most of the time, accompanying bodies to their burial places. He one time crashed in a helicopter at Cuei-bet town accompanying his comrade that passed on. This week alone, he took a body to Aweil to be told that Gen Maker Thiong was no more. Garang drove from Aweil to Bor to attend the burial. Early in the morning, he drove from Bor to Juba International airport to join Governor Francis Marial Abur and myself to accompany the body of veteran paramount Chief Malek Akuien to Tonj for burial.

It is not possible to account for the best things this comrade has done to his comrades since the days of our liberation struggle. He is doing all these things while he is a very sick man.
It is our nature as Janubin to praise good people after they pass on!!

Allow me, my comrades, and all South Sudanese of Goodwill to appreciate and vote for the national honouring of Gen. Garang Mabil Deng by our equally veteran and President, Gen. Salva kiir Mayardit.

I humbly request you all to second my proposal for the appointment of the subject as presidential envoy for veteran affairs. His appointment shall bring the veterans and their problems nearer to our president.
