Hon. Natalina Aweng Abior Deng strongly condemns the Muok Akot Wut community for wrongly involving the Aguok Kuei community in a petition concerning General Akech Tong Aleu. She emphasizes that the matter is internal to Muok Akot Wut and should not include unrelated communities.
She stresses that identity is based on lineage, not location, and warns that such misrepresentation creates division, confusion, and undermines unity. The letter criticizes the leadership for politicizing community identity and possibly distancing themselves from one of their own leaders instead of taking pride in him.
She calls on the Muok Akot Wut leadership to correct the mistake, retract misleading claims, and handle their issues with honesty, responsibility, and respect for truth to preserve unity among communities.

Subject: Call for Accountability the stalled progress of Alexandria University and Fr. John Lee Hospital in Tonj.

By Malang Malang Agor, India

There is not a single public or private university in Warrap State. Although Alexandria University in Tonj was intended to be opened by the government, it remains closed. What is preventing the government from officially opening it? Why is it that projects destined for this area are consistently sabotaged by a few individuals in Juba?

There was also a hospital donated by Fr. John Lee from south Korea to Tonj, which could have been the largest hospital in Africa let alone in south sudan or East Africa and it was sabotaged by some government dignitaries not to be built in Tonj instead of Juba claiming the population inTonj is too small. Today people travel to Asia, the Middle East, Europe and other parts of the world for treatment are those places closer to Juba than Tonj?

Tonj community must open its eyes and follow up on these cases, no one else will fight for us if we do not. The individuals who wish to block these developments have been identified, and they will not stop unless they are challenged.
Are people of Warrap not ashamed? other states have several universities operating where citizens are studying without too much difficulties of long distance travelling from different states to those states. Why can't Warrap build their university also and maintain it?

Enough is Enough!

By Ezekiel Lol Gatkuoth

April 14, 2026.

For far too long, we as leaders from the Nuer community have made a costly mistake which is allowing Riek Machar Teny and a small circle of diaspora sponsors to drag our people into cycles of conflict that have devastated our land and our future. What has this brought us? Broken communities, stalled development, and most painfully, a generation of children denied access to education.

It is deeply troubling to learn that out of the 200 primary schools planned for construction in 2026, not a single one was initially allocated to Nuer areas, simply because these regions are labeled as war zones. This is not just a policy failure; it is a reflection of how insecurity continues to rob our children of opportunity and hope. However, I am encouraged that through engagement with the Minister of General Education and Instruction, Dr. Kuyok Abol Kuyok, there is now a commitment to redirect the majority of these schools to Nuer areas. This is a step in the right direction, but much more must be done.

We cannot continue down this path of destruction. Leadership must mean responsibility, not perpetual instability. The future of the Nuer community cannot be sacrificed for personal ambition or political power struggles. Our children deserve classrooms, not conflict. They deserve books, not bullets.

Let it be clear: over 80% of Nuer land is peaceful. This is the reality that must define us, not the pockets of violence that have held us back. It is time to reclaim our narrative, rebuild our communities, and prioritize development over division.

As leaders, we have a duty to stand firm and say: no more. No more lost generations. No more cycles of war. No more setbacks disguised as struggle.

2026 must be a turning point, a year where we choose unity, progress, and a better future for our people.

The time for change is now! The voices of the peace and Leaders of peace must come out and support peace.
