PRESIDENT KIIR LEADS NATION IN MARTYRS’ DAY COMMEMORATION, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO SERVICE DELIVERY

President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Thursday led South Sudan in commemorating Martyrs’ Day, paying tribute to the men and women whose sacrifices laid the foundation for the Republic of South Sudan.

The national ceremony brought together citizens, government officials, members of the security services, diplomats, and veterans to honour the country’s heroes and heroines. The commemoration paid special tribute to the Founding Leader, Dr. John Garang de Mabior, and all those who gave their lives in the struggle for freedom, justice, and independence.

During the event, President Kiir reaffirmed his government’s commitment to improving service delivery and advancing the country’s development while preserving the legacy of South Sudan’s fallen heroes.

GEN. AJOK MAKOM AGAIN BOOSTS TONJ EAST FOOTBALL TEAM WITH $2,000 SUPPORT

General Ajok Makom has presented again $2,000 USD in cash to the Tonj East Football Team as his personal support to the team for ending a tie game against Gogrial West.

The donation comes as Tonj East prepares to compete in the ongoing Warrap State Peace Tournament in Juba.

General Ajok Makom commended the team for their discipline and unity during the match against Gogrial West.
He promised to do more to support the team if their performance continues to flourish during the tournament.

Team officials and players received the cash support and thanked Gen. Ajok for standing with the youth and sports.

This gesture shows his strong leadership support for peace through sports.

Tonj East Football Team has received significant financial support from community leaders ahead of the ongoing Warrap State Peace Tournament in Juba.

Cash donations received:

1. Gen. Ajok Makom – $2,000 USD
2. Gen. Keer Kiir – 1,000,000 SSP
3. Gen. Manyang – $1,000 USD
4. Capt. Thon Tat Ngot – $200 USD
5. John Matoch Machar – $100 USD

BREAKING: Former Warrap Governor Lewis Anei Announces Bid for National Parliament Seat in Akop

Veteran SPLM leader and 1st Governor of Warrap State, Hon. Ustaz Lewis Anei Madut-Kuendit, has declared his intention to contest for the National Parliamentary seat for Constituency No. 10, Akop Area, Tonj North County under the SPLM ticket.

In a statement released today, the current Tonj Community Leader in Juba appealed to the people of Akop’s five Payams — Alabek, Aliek, Akop, Marial-Lou and Rualbet — to support his candidacy ahead of the upcoming national elections.

Hon. Lewis said he is seeking to represent Akop in parliament to bring services, push for reforms, and give the constituency a strong voice at the national level. He cited his 20 years outside government after serving as Warrap’s founding Governor from Sept 2005 as reason for the community to “sympathize and elect him un-opposed.”

He also called on other interested candidates to step down in respect of his liberation struggle and service to the people.

Acting Governor H.E. Aluel Garang Garang on Tuesday visited police recruits undergoing basic police training at the Wartit Police Training Centre in Kuajok Town, Warrap State.

During the visit, the Warrap State Police Commissioner, Maj. Gen. Juma Monday Semaye, briefed the Acting Governor on the progress of the Police Basic Training programme. He said the training is being conducted by a team of 64 instructors, including 14 high-ranked officers.

"The recruits are receiving instruction in criminal law, the Penal Code, the Police Act, evidence law, police operations, human rights, arms management, and other general policing skills. He added that some trainers will later be deployed to the counties to continue training additional recruits. Upon completing the programme in October, the recruits will graduate in full police uniform and be equipped to serve as professional officers in line with international policing standards." While speaking, Acting Governor, Aluel Garang Garang commended both the trainers and trainees for their commitment and encouraged the recruits to remain disciplined, respect their instructors, and uphold professionalism throughout the training.

The Minister of Labour and Public Service welcomed the strong turnout of recruits and said the state government would request Governor Amb. Bol Wek Agoth to approve the recruitment of an additional 5,000 police personnel to help strengthen / stabilise law enforcement and security across Warrap State.

The visit was attended by Warrap State Police Commissioner Maj. Gen. Monday Semaye, Maj. Gen. Juma Rehan, Commander of Division 11, the Minister of Labour and Public Service, and other senior government and security officials.

BREAKING: GPOC Locks Down Premises as Sponsored Students Protest Over Unpaid Tuition

JUBA, South Sudan – Students from oil-producing areas who are sponsored by the Greater Pioneer Operating Company (GPOC) reportedly attempted to force their way into the company's premises after alleging that their tuition fees had gone unpaid for two years.

According to reports, GPOC security personnel locked down the facility and closed all entry gates to prevent the students from entering the premises.

The students are said to be demanding the payment of outstanding tuition fees, claiming the prolonged delay has disrupted their studies. GPOC had not issued an official statement on the incident at the time of publication.
