western equatoria state Governor, James Altaib issued decree removing Commissioner of State Revenue, and other officials within the Revenue Authority, Western Equatoria State. with immediately replacements.

Governor Altaib dismissed the following officials

1. James Richard Ramadan, State Commissioner for Revenue Authority

2. Torosa Elias Toro, Deputy State Commissioner for Revenue Authority

3. Monica Peter, Director General of the State Revenue Authority

The new appointments are as follows:

1. Jackson Ezekiel, State Commissioner for Revenue Authority

2. Helen Thomas Abudu, Director General of the State Revenue Authority

No replacement has yet been made for the position of Deputy State Commissioner for Revenue Authority.

In addition, the Governor has constituted a Board of Directors for the State Revenue Authority, as follows:

1. Sebit Joseph – Chairperson (from Mvolo County)

2. Joseph Elias – Deputy Chairperson (from Maridi County)

3. Seven other members, including Helen Torokia Joseph from Mundri East County.

Judge Confirms Public and Media Access to Machar Trial
Juba – 23 September 2025

The judge presiding over the ongoing trial of First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar and seven senior SPLM/A-IO officials has reaffirmed that the proceedings are open to both the public and the media.

Judge James Alala, speaking during Tuesday’s session, clarified that the hearings are public and accessible to all citizens and media houses. His remarks follow concerns over restricted access and calls for greater transparency in the politically sensitive case.

“We would like to inform the public that the court is open. As I mentioned yesterday (Monday), a public hearing means that citizens are allowed to attend the proceedings. All media houses are also permitted to access the court and report. They know how to report and what to report. There is no reason to block or deny access to any media outlet or interested citizen. Let that be clear,” he said.

Azande Kingdom Mourns the Passing of Paramount Chief Prince Marona Sako

The late Prince Marona Sako was a highly respected traditional leader whose passing marks a significant loss to the royal family and the entire Azande community. His contributions to leadership, culture, and unity within the kingdom will be remembered with deep respect.
