Autopsy confirms Wilfred Wol Akuem was shot in the throat

Following a thorough autopsy conducted this afternoon at Juba Funeral Home, medical examiners confirmed that Wilfred Wol Akuem died from a gunshot wound to the throat, with the bullet later found lodged in his liver.

According to a family member, the bullet recovered from Wol’s body was identified as having been fired from a pistol, suggesting that the shooter used a small firearm at close range.

Witnesses reported that Wol left home around midnight, speaking on his phone at the time. Tragically, he was found lifeless early this morning at the gate of his residence, still holding his phone.

Family sources recalled that in 2023, another man, Aleu Deng Tong, was also killed by an unknown gunman in the same compound.
