Bol Mel out, part 1 of 1:2:3

Benjamin Bol Mel, appointed South Sudan’s Vice President for the Economic Cluster in February 2025, was abruptly sacked by President Salva Kiir on November 12, 2025.

He was also removed as SPLM first deputy chairman, stripped of party membership, demoted from general to private in the National Security Service, and dismissed from service. And why, a good questions that got answers, off zero evidence .

No official reason was given, but sources cite escalating power struggles in SPLM, corruption allegations, and mismanagement during his tenure, including failure to control inflation.

Where is the concrete evidence—bank records, witness testimonies—that hasn’t been recycled from unproven sanctions or anonymous UN sources?

Why opt for summary dismissal and demotion without a trial, if the goal is truly anti-corruption rather than eliminating rivals? And also If Bol Mel is the “financial advisor” siphoning funds, why promote him to general and VP just months ago—unless the real issue is his growing influence?

NB: BBM’ Allies like the central bank governor and NRA were also fired.
