Our correspondents in Wau have said that SSPDF gunships have “breathed air fire” on defiant SPLA-IOs along Wau-Tonj road.

“The IO elements have been blamed for disturbing the peace by setting up illegal checkpoints (roadblocks) and allegely orchestrating ambushes on travelers, mostly civilian vehicles, along the Tonj-Wau road”, stated one civilian, who wishes to remain anonymous.

“The bombing started this morning at dawn, around 5am, and created bits of confusion in Wau, but now everyone is aware, a sign of relief,” he added.

We will continue to monitor the situation there in that part of Western Bahr el Ghazal State.

Twic Mayardit vs. Abyei: Historic Match Celebrated Amid Fan Misconduct

The Twic Mayardit Football Team has lauded both Abyei and Twic communities after a thrilling showdown in the Bahr el Ghazal Counties Peace Tournament at Juba Stadium. Over 20,000 fans packed the venue—nearly triple its 7,000-seat capacity—turning the match into a historic spectacle.

Described as “more than a contest,” the game showcased skill, talent, and a shared commitment to peace and unity. Both teams maintained discipline, with no red or yellow cards, and Abyei’s performance was hailed as “extreme and tremendous.” Twic Mayardit reaffirmed its quest to defend its Warrap State Peace Tournament title.
