Lobong and Lokoli arrive in Boma on a peace mission

BOMA, 9 Janusry 2024-- Eastern Equatoria Governor Louis Lobong Lojore and Greater Pibor Chief Administrator Lokoli Ame Bullen have arrived in Boma on a three-day peace mission.

Addressing a rally in Boma town on Tuesday, the two leaders urged the Murle community to shun child abduction and cattle raiding and to live in peace with their neighbours.

The duo are in the area to address the looming conflict between Toposa and Murle communities caused by child abduction and cattle raiding.

Officials from Eastern Equatoria and Greater Pibor Administrative Area say there has been high tension between the two communities, with fighters from each side planning for revenge attacks during this dry season.

Lobong and Lokoli now say plans are underway for peace dialogue to restore relations among communities in the Kuron-Boma cattle grazing corridor.
