Governor Lobong directs the SPLM secretariat to intensify grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2026 elections.

The Eastern Equatoria State governor, who doubles as the SPLM State Chairperson, has directed the SPLM state secretary to intensify massive grassroots mobilization ahead of the anticipated general election slated for 2026.
The governor was speaking at the SPLM Secretariat during an official oath-taking event of Owar Mark Ugude as the new SPLM State Assistant Secretary for Culture, Information, and Communication, attended by senior party officials and supporters.
Governor Louis Lobong Lojore, who presided over the event, urged the new official to channel his energy, skills, and dedication toward advancing the SPLM's vision.
The SPLM State Chairman commended the outgoing Assistant Secretary for his service and encouraged Ugude to emulate his dedication while introducing innovative approaches to communication.
Governor Lobong directed the State Secretariat to intensify outreach by visiting blocks within Torit Municipal Council and neighboring Payams to engage citizens and community leaders directly.
He underscored that grassroots mobilization remains the backbone of consolidating the party's support base, particularly as South Sudan prepares for the 2026 elections.
He further instructed the State Secretary to ensure that all assistant secretaries, including those in the Women and Youth Leagues, develop clear work plans for effective monitoring and mobilization.
While the party deputy chairperson, Maragret Itoo Leonardo, urged the new assistant secretary to intensify effective communication for clear feedback, expressing readiness for collaboration.
SPLM state secretary German Charles Ojok says the party is empowering young leaders for effective service delivery. Charles urges youth to be productive in their assignment as the party prepares for election.
The newly sworn-in Assistant Secretary for Culture, Information, and Communication expresses commitment to advance the vision, mission, and principles of the SPLM political party by enhancing effective communication.
Uwar Mark Ugude pledged to work with the members of the party secretariat to bring about peace, development, and prosperity to advance the principles of the SPLM party.
Mark was appointed on the 13th of August, 2025, via SPLM Eastern Equatoria State Chairman order number 6 as Assistant Secretary of Culture, Information, and Communication, replacing the long-serving former Assistant Secretary Siro Silvio Lewak.
The occasion highlighted the party's renewed commitment to strengthening grassroots mobilization and enhancing communication across Eastern Equatoria State.
