Hon. James Ajiek Maruop Bol, Calls for an Emergency Humanitarian Meeting in Kuajok
Friday, August 28, 2026, The Chairperson of the Warrap State Relief and Rehabilitation Commission, Hon. James Ajiek Maruop Bol, has urgently invited all humanitarian and development partners to an emergency coordination meeting scheduled for Monday, September 1st, at 11:00 AM at the RRC Office in Juba.
Addressing partners, the Chairperson explained that the meeting was convened to respond to a dual humanitarian crisis. He stated that a severe drought has destroyed farmers' gardens, leading to widespread crop failure and escalating food insecurity, while inter-communal conflicts have displaced thousands, leaving them without shelter, food, water, and basic services.
He noted that security in the affected areas has been successfully normalized by Governor Bol Wek Agoth to ensure safe access for aid delivery.
The Chairperson outlined that the meeting's objectives are to jointly assess the impacts, develop coordinated strategies, plan immediate life-saving interventions in food security, WASH, and shelter, and agree on a recovery roadmap. He urged partners to attend, emphasizing that their presence and commitment are critically needed to ensure no vulnerable person is left behind.
