Breaking News:............
H:E Gen. Governor Bol Wek Agoth Fulfills 50 Million SSP Pledge for the Constructions of in Apuk Padoc of Tonj North County of Warrap State.

As the Chairman of organizing committee for organizations of the previous function of Apuk Padoc community Funds raising ceremony in Juba which was conducted this month, I have finally confirmed the 50,0000,000ssp from our most hard-working and able coordinator Cde. at his office yesterday evening.

Ambassador Bol Wek Agoth, the recently appointed Governor of Warrap State, has honored his earlier pledge by delivering 50 million South Sudanese Pounds (SSP) to support the construction of Salva Kiir Mayardit Hospital in Apuk Padoc, Tonj North County. The fulfillment of this commitment is seen as a significant boost to healthcare development in the state.

Governor Bol Wek, who was sworn in earlier this month by President Salva Kiir Mayardit, has made development and reconciliation central themes of his administration. His financial contribution comes at a time when Warrap State is striving to recover from years of communal violence and instability, with urgent needs in public services and infrastructure.

The Salva Kiir Mayardit Hospital project is expected to improve access to quality medical care for thousands of residents in Apuk Padoc and surrounding areas. The governor’s gesture is also intended to inspire other leaders and well-wishers to invest in critical development projects across the state.

Governor Bol Wek’s administration has called on citizens, the private sector, and development partners to join hands in supporting peacebuilding and social development initiatives, emphasizing that investments in health and education are vital for Warrap’s long-term stability and prosperity.

This latest move underscores the governor’s commitment to tangible action, not just rhetoric, as he seeks to build trust and deliver meaningful change.

Tonj North County Commissioner Mawein Akech Mawein told Media on Tuesday that the cattle owners fought off the rustlers and managed to recover most of the raided cattle.

“10 of the herders from Tonj North died and 24 were injured while five rustlers from Mayom County were killed,” he said.

Commissioner Akech said the Red Cross facilitated transportation of the 24 critically injured people for medical treatment in Juba.

“The Red Cross has assisted us in transporting the injured people from Tonj North to Juba, where they will receive treatment for the severe wounds that cannot be managed in the county,” he said.

Meanwhile, James Lilly Kuol, the commissioner of Mayom County, confirmed that five youths from his jurisdiction were killed in action in Tonj North County.

“Those are youths from Unity State who have been carrying out criminal activities since the beginning of this year. The authorities in Tonj North County need to be aware of these armed criminals and attack them when they arrive in areas of Tonj North,” he said. “There are criminals in Tonj North who communicate and plan with armed youth from Mayom to jointly attack and raid cattle camps in Tonj North County, according to information we have received there.”

Last week, the South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF) issued a one-week ultimatum to armed youths in Warrap State and Unity State’s Mayom County to voluntarily surrender their illegal weapons to the government or face forceful disarmament.

Earlier this month, President Salva Kiir declared a state of emergency and disarmament exercise in Warrap State and Unity State’s Mayom County. A force drawn from the different armed forces was dispatched to Warrap State from Juba to carry out forceful disarmament after a seven-day ultimatum for civilians to hand in illegal weapons voluntarily.

Tonj East County Commissioner Mangor Dhuol confirmed that residents in his jurisdiction had handed over more than 4,000 guns to chiefs.

“According to the daily report I have received today (Monday) at 11 a.m., more than 4,000 guns were collected from all payams of Tonj East County, and the citizens were the ones who handed the weapons to the local chiefs,” he stated.

According to the commissioner, residents welcomed the initiative and are committed to gathering illegal fi****ms and handing them to the traditional authorities, who will give them to the army.

The same exercise is ongoing in the rest of the 5 Counties of Warrap as officials confirmed the commitment of armed youth in handing over guns in good faith to the disarmament forces.

South Sudan security seizes the interior minister’s gadgets

South Sudan’s National Security Service (NSS) has confiscated a smartphone, laptop, and internet modem from Angelina Teny, the country’s interior minister and wife of detained First Vice President Riek Machar, opposition officials said.

Teny, a senior member of Machar’s opposition SPLM-IO party, resides in her husband’s residence.

SPLM-IO spokesperson Pal Mai Deng told Radio Tamazuj on Sunday that security agents seized her devices to restrict her communication and movement. “The move taken today [Sunday] to confiscate her devices is that she is not allowed to move, which differentiates her status from being under open arrest and real confinement,” Pal said.

Pal, who also serves as South Sudan’s irrigation minister, alleged the move was part of efforts to undermine the 2018 revitalized peace agreement. He said other SPLM-IO officials, including lawmakers, had been barred from leaving the country.

Pal said the motives behind the NSS’s actions remain unclear, but he voiced concerns over Teny’s and Machar’s safety, noting she was the only person staying with him at their residence.
“Hon. Angelina is just one of the members, but there are other SPLM-IO members loyal to the cause, including lawmakers,” he added.

Another senior official, speaking anonymously, confirmed to Radio Tamazuj that security forces had taken Teny’s devices.

“It is difficult now for Madam Angelina to communicate because her phone has been taken. Security officials confiscated the phone, laptop, and internet modem she used to access the internet,” the official said.

Internet service was cut off from Machar’s residence following his arrest in March, forcing Teny to rely on a modem, the official added. Teny had been staying in a separate section of the residence since March 26 to provide Machar with food and essentials.

“The NSS initially told Angelina she was not under house arrest like Machar, but fearing she would be blocked from

Peter Mayen quits alcohol, declares political comeback

Former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Peter Mayen Majongdit, has announced that he has quit alcohol, marking what he calls a personal and political comeback.

Speaking at a community gathering in Juba, over the weekend, Mayen, who also leads the People’s Liberal Party (PLP), a member of the Other Political Parties (OPP) coalition said the decision came after deep personal reflection.

“They took one advantage of my simple weakness called ‘Alcohol’ and because of that, they gossiped about me to destroy me completely. And then, I sat down with myself again and I said ‘No’, why should alcohol be my weakness? Alcohol is like just water and soda and I quit and I am back,” he said.

Mayen, a prominent figure in the transitional government, has remained largely out of the public eye since his dismissal from the cabinet in 2022. His recent remarks signal a renewed intention to return to active politics.

The former minister acknowledged the criticism he has faced, saying he is determined to move forward and reclaim his role as a servant of the people.
