Holy Childhood was celebrated with great fervor and devotion at the Holy Family Parish in Nazareth . The event was marked by a series of spiritual activities, including prayers, hymns, and a special mass dedicated to the Holy Childhood.

Father Santino, the parish priest who presided over the mass, delivered a poignant sermon emphasizing the importance of the day. He highlighted the significance of the Feast of Holy Childhood, which commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ and the innocence and purity of childhood. Father Santino urged the congregation to reflect on the teachings of the Gospel, which encourage us to be thankful and to cultivate a spirit of gratitude in our lives.

A key aspect of Father Santino's message was the importance of considering and including children in all aspects of community life. He stressed that children are the future of the Church and society, and their voices and needs should be respected and valued. The National Unity Government of Western Bahr el Ghazal State, under the leadership of State Governor Major General Sheriff Daniel Sheriff, has declared three days of mourning following the final viewing of the body of Dr. Vincent Taban Joseph, the former Minister of Health. This decision was made to honor the late official, who recently passed away in the Republic of India after battling an illness.

The move comes as a recognition of Dr. Taban's significant contributions to the development of the health sector and his service to the citizens during his tenure. He was known for his constant commitment to improving healthcare services in the state.

Just a reminder to the organizers, and schools involved in the ongoing high schools tournament in Wau. safety is paramount. Recently, some have encountered incidents where students were targeted by gangs while attending matches at the stadium. Fortunately, some students managed to stay safe due to the quick cooperation and support from their peers and security; others got injured.
‎
‎To ensure the safety and well-being of all students in future, I am urging the organizers and schools to prioritize security measures from the beginning to the end of the tournament. Here are some key expectations: From Organizers:
‎1. Enhanced Security Measures: Implement robust security protocols to prevent unauthorized access to the stadium.
‎2. Regular Checks: Conduct regular checks to ensure the safety of all attendees.
‎3. Maintain Order: Ensure that the event runs smoothly and orderly.
‎
‎And from Schools:
‎1. Cooperation with Security: Work closely with the security team to ensure the safety of all students.
‎2. Educate Students: Inform students about the importance of following security guidelines and reporting any suspicious activities.
‎3. Support for At-Risk Students: Collaborate with parents to help students who are involved in gangs to refrain from gang groups and seek alternative support.

President Salva Kiir has dismissed Premio Emmanuel Okello, the SPLM-IO Governor of Western Bahr El Ghazal State.

In a decree read on state television, Kiir appointed Sherif Daniel Sherif as the new governor, replacing Okello with immediate effect.

On August 22, 2025, the Western Bahr El Ghazal State Youth Union marked International Youth Day with a celebration filled with hope and calls to actions.

The Deputy Chairperson Omnia Arkangelo the even opened by thanking everyone who contributed to the event's success and made a heartfelt appeal to girls who had dropped out of school to return and continue their education.

The Secretary General George Arkangelo on behalf of the Chairperson AndLino Gabriel urged the community in Wau County to take the lead in solving their own challenges and encouraged young people to engage actively in agriculture and other sectors impacting their lives and he also asked the youth not to be use by politicians to create violence in their society.

Women leader in Bessilia at the event called for the urgent establishment of a primary healthcare center to serve the community’s needs.

The local chief reminded youth to be exemplary citizens and the security leader from Division Three advocated for regular government visits to communities to build trust in the societies.

The Minister of Agriculture asked youth to be part of all sectors of the state, promising ongoing collaboration to ensure they are well represented.

The Honorable Speaker Of Legislative assembly WBGS expressed deep appreciation for the youth, calling on them to love, respect, and collaborate with one another.

In addition, He thanked Chairperson AndLino and ask the Youth Union continue these inspiring initiatives,

Hon. Rodolfo Andrea, Minister of the Council of Ministers and representing governor encouraged youth to embrace moral activities and support the building of a strong, positive youth community.

The Luo Community Association of Bahr El Ghazal in Juba officially conducted the general assembly annual meeting for the dissolution of the leadership.

‎The outgoing leadership was headed by Hon. George Justin Achor and deputised by Captain Emilio Angelo Buola, who also doubled as the acting Chairman since Hon. George Justin Achor, the chairman, has spent almost two years in Canada for medical treatment. ‎However, in today's meeting, Captain Emilio Angelo Buola dissolved the leadership, paving the way for the general assembly to continue with the formation of the electoral committee.

‎ After giving the chance to the general assembly to form the electoral committee as follows: Dr. Uget Apayo Uguak, chairperson, Hon. Akuar Gamar Ujieth, D/chairperson, Molana Santino Kon Yak, Secretary General, Angelina Mariano Achor, Secretary for finance, Alfred Angok, Secretary for information, Abraham Uray, D/ Secretary General, Adeng Alfred Majok Madut, D/ Secretary for information.

We were joined by the Raai el- Saleh primary, and secondary schools, Scout society, South Sudan Red Cross Society, DG of Wau Teaching Hospital, Dr. Bulis Hon. Minister of Health Dr. Francis Michael and Hon. Mohammed Ali Goni minister of Culture, Youth and Sport. .

Chairperson Andlino passionately encouraged our youth to embrace the spirit of smart work, reminding of us that every small effort contributes to a greater cause.
And Hon. Mohammed Ali Goni urged the fellow youth to engage in these vital activities to foster the unity.
