SSFF Presidential Candidate Teng Deng Disqualified from Race

The South Sudan Football Federation (SSFF) presidential candidate , Mr. Teng Deng, has been officially disqualified from contesting the top position in the organization.

The decision was announced late this afternoon by the SSFF Electoral Committee, citing multiple grounds for the disqualification.

According to the Committee, Mr. Deng failed to meet several key eligibility requirements outlined in the SSFF Statute and Electoral Code:

1. Lack of Academic Qualification – Mr. Deng does not possess a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, as required under Article 38 (4) (iii) of the SSFF Statute.

2. Missing Support Letters – He did not submit the mandatory four support proposal letters from SSFF members, a requirement under Article 31 (3) and Article 8 (3) of the Electoral Code.

3. No Conflict of Interest Declaration – Mr. Deng also failed to file a declaration against conflict of interest, as stipulated in Article A (3) of the Statute.

While disqualified candidates are entitled to appeal the decision, any such appeal must be submitted to the SSFF Secretariat within three (3) days from the date this decision is published, in accordance with Article 9 (2) of the 2025 Electoral Code.
