1. Eng. Mark Mayool Malek.

In June 1969, Eng. Mark joined the department of posts and telegraph at Fetihab Wireless Transmitting Station where he worked as the only graduate from the South to work in the telecommunications field after graduating from the university of Khartoum.

He later went to Salford University in Manchester where he
attained a bachelor of science in Electronic Communications in 1976.

In 1977, he was in charge of the Nyakuren Earth Station that opened on 25 May 1977. He managed the station and later was promoted to district manager for the Greater Equatoria region in 1978 after which he became the regional director for Southern Sudan.

After South Sudan’s Independence, he served as second undersecretary at the Ministry of Telecommunications and Postal Services in South Sudan.

Eng. Mark Mayool Malek's journey has solidified his position as a pivotal figure in the development of communication infrastructure in South Sudan. His contributions laid essential groundwork, truly shaping the future of connectivity in South Sudan.
