The number one question I’ve been getting is:
“Is Syria dangerous?”

And I get it… that’s all we’ve been shown.

But what people don’t show you
are the smiles, the kindness, the way people welcome you like family 🤍🇸🇾

In a place the world often misunderstands,
I found some of the warmest, most genuine souls. 🤍

Sometimes the reality is so different from what we’re told…
and sometimes, it’s much more beautiful.

Eid Mubarak to all celebrating, may your hearts be full of peace 🤍✨

Aleppo’s citadel is one of the oldest fortresses in the world, shaped by empires for thousands of years. But beyond its beauty, parts of it were also used to hold prisoners in the past, a reminder that history isn’t always just about walls and views. 🇸🇾😳

🇸🇾
Did you know about this jail?

The best-preserved Roman theatre isn’t in Italy, it’s in Syria 🇸🇾
Built nearly 2,000 years ago, this theatre in Bosra once held up to 15,000 people and survived centuries by becoming a fortress.
Walking through it feels unreal, layers of Roman, Byzantine, and Islamic history in one place.

Muslims and Christians celebrating Christmas together in Syria was one of the nicest things I witnessed on this trip. 🇸🇾❤️🎄
I don’t celebrate Christmas in December, but as a Serbian Orthodox Christian, I really felt the spirit and in the end, religion didn’t matter at all. We were all just people, coming from different countries, sharing music, laughter, food, and moments.

We sang Christmas songs together, visited churches, and celebrated side by side with so much respect and warmth. It felt natural, joyful, and incredibly human.

This is my answer to many of your questions about religion, how to behave, and what to expect here.
I’m deeply thankful to everyone who made us feel so welcome during the holidays and respected every belief so genuinely. Thank you for making us feel like at home!
