For 18 years I have been organizing metal shows in Armenia and Georgia without ever asking for direct support. Today is the first time.
It has been a long-time dream of mine to host Shape of Despair in our region, and I finally decided to take the plunge. They will play in Yerevan and Tbilisi this weekend.
Bringing a 7-person band and crew from Finland to the Caucasus is extremely expensive - flights from Helsinki, accommodation, production, marketing, logistics. The band has been incredibly understanding and undemanding, doing everything they can to keep costs as low as possible. However, ticket sales are far below what is needed to cover expenses. At the moment, I am facing a loss of more than 4000 euros. Financial loss has always been part of how Zhesht operates, but this level of loss is difficult to absorb.
If you believe in keeping this scene alive - if you’ve ever enjoyed the shows we’ve built together over the years - this is the moment to show it.
The most direct way to support is simple: buy a ticket. Even if you’re unsure. Even if you’re tired. Even if this is not your exact blend of metal. If the ticket price is beyond your budget, get in touch - we will find a solution.
Every ticket right now matters.
Zhesht Events has always taken the risk so that international metal bands can stand on our stage. This time, I’m asking the community to stand with us - and to experience one of the most iconic artists in doom metal together with very special local support bands.
Thank you to everyone who already supports. See you at the show.
