LUBOMBO ANTI-NARCOTIC UNIT DESTROYS 10 HECTARES OF DAGGA IN BIG BEND OPERATION

The Royal Eswatini Police Service has reported that the Lubombo Anti-Narcotic Unit, in collaboration with officers from Big Bend, Siphofaneni and Lubuli police stations, conducted anti-drug operation on Tuesday, 4 August 2026, targeting illegal dagga cultivation in the Big Bend area.

According to the police, approximately 10 hectares of illegal dagga fields at Sangwaluma Compound were destroyed through spraying during the operation.

The operation also resulted in the arrest of five suspects who were allegedly found in possession of dagga. The suspects later appeared before the Big Bend Magistrate's Court, where each paid an admission of guilt fine of E700.

Ubombo Sugar F.C has called on supporters to vote for the club to secure a place among the Top 6 teams that will compete in the returning Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Charity Cup.

Supporters can vote by dialling *4055 #, selecting PLE Charity Cup, then Vote for Team, choosing Ubombo Sugar FC, selecting the number of votes, entering their MoMo number, and approving the payment by dialling *007 # and entering their MoMo PIN.

Voting costs E3 per vote.

The Charity Cup returns after a lengthy absence, with fans encouraged to rally behind Bafana Bashukela and help the club qualify for the competition.

Ubombo Sugar Commits E100,000 to ENPF Imbube Marathon 2026

Ubombo Sugar Limited has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles and community development by sponsoring the 2026 Eswatini National Provident Fund (ENPF) Imbube Marathon with E100,000.

The sponsorship was officially presented by the company's Corporate Affairs Head, Leonard Ndzimandze, during the marathon launch held at the Happy Valley Hotel in Ezulwini.
