One reason people fall away from the faith is because they have built their faith on the wrong foundation. Sometimes we build our faith on a church. We become very passionate about our church and may even develop a my-church-is-better-than- your-church attitude. But there are a lot of great churches in the world. And we are all part of the church, not just a particular church. Or we may have a favorite Bible teacher or may like one pastor better than another.
This even happened with first- century believers. The apostle Paul warned, “For when one says, ‘I am of Paul,’ and another, ‘I am of Apollos,’ are you not carnal? Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, as the Lord gave to each one?” ( 1 Corinthians 3:4 –5).

There is nothing wrong with liking a certain pastor or enjoying a church that you are a part of. But don’t build the foundation of your faith on these things. Churches will disappoint you, because they are run by people. And people make mistakes. Sometimes they are misunderstood too.
Pastors will disappoint you as well, because they are human like everyone else. So if you build your foundation on a church or on a pastor, you can fall away one day, because those people might mess up.

If you are a Christian, you are adopted by a Father who will never ever change His mind in regard to you, never write you off, never leave you or forsake you. If you are a part of God's family by faith alone in Christ alone, then you have a Friend who sticks closer than a brother.
You cannot talk about the one true God without coming to this truth: How great is the faithfulness of our God!
When an intimidated Moses needed assurance about the massive assignment he was given, He asked for God's credentials. He wanted to know God's name. So God answered with His covenant name, "Yahweh: I AM WHO I AM" (Ex. 3:14). It is a name that expresses God's eternality, but it also announces that in His nature and perfections, in His knowledge, will, purpose and happiness, He always remains the same. God never changes.

Money and materials do not bring contentment or happiness.
These come from a proper relationship with God, nothing else.
Anytime a person tries to shortcut or find their own way to happiness it won’t work.
All the money in the world cannot buy
happiness. For we brought nothing into the world and we can take nothing out of it – You cannot take your fancy cars, electronics, golf clubs, or mansion with you when you die. You cannot even take the clothing on your back. Your soul goes and leaves everything on earth behind.

Most of Israel missed the day of their visitation merely because they were looking for the promised visitation of God in the wrong places. While they were busy searching for some regal king or political savior, Jesus was walking among them as a common carpenter (Isa. 53:2). God's revival methods have never changed, it still pleases Him to come through humble and lowly servants. How many of us are in danger of missing the day of our own visitation, simply because we are still thinking like mere carnal men?

If you don’t know Jesus as your Savior, then your sin has put a separation between you and God. You cannot enter into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ until you first admit you are a sinner. You agree with God that you, just like every other person on this earth, has fallen short of what he requires. Once you acknowledge this and recognize your need for a savior, it opens the door for your relationship with God to be restored.
