🇸🇿✨Announced by the Minister of Tinkhundla Administration & Development, Honourable Sikhumbuzo Dlamini, Eswatini will host an unprecedented gathering of African Kings, Queens, Chiefs and traditional authorities 5–9 September 2025 at Esibayeni Lodge under the African Indigenous Governance Council (AIGC).

The Forum advances indigenous governance, peace and development, aligns with the AU 2025 Theme: “Justice for Africans and People of African Descent Through Reparations."

Minister of Agriculture, Hon. Mandla Tshawuka, has announced a E59.2 million allocation for the 2025/26 Input Subsidy & Tractor Hire Programme.

✅ Over 8,130 farmers to benefit
✅ Maize – Farmer: E6 000 | Govt: E6 000 → Total: E12,000/hectare
✅ Beans – Farmer: E6 000 | Govt: E6 000 → Total: E12 000/hectare
✅ Sorghum – Farmer: E3 200 | Govt: E3 200 → Total: E6 400/hectare
✅ Tractor Hire – Farmer: E400/hr | Govt: E180/hr → Total: E580/hr

🌾💰 Good news for farmers!

Minister of Agriculture Hon. Mandla Tshawuka confirms that His Majesty’s Government has allocated E59.2 million towards the Input Subsidy and Tractor Hire Programme for the 2025/26 season.

The programme is expected to benefit about 8,130 vulnerable Emaswati, providing E12,000 per hectare for maize and beans and E6,400 per hectare for sorghum, ensuring affordable staple crops for all.

Subsidised input packages this season:
🌽 Maize – E6,000
🫘 Beans – E6,000
🌾 Sorghum – E3,200

🌿 TAVI Launches School Gardens to Promote Nutrition and Indigenous Vegetables 🥬📚

In a bold move to tackle malnutrition and revive Eswatini’s traditional food culture, the Taiwan Africa Vegetable Initiative (TAVI) has launched a Nutrition Education Programme at Sidvokodvo Railway Primary School.

The initiative, rolled out in 26 schools across the country, empowers learners to grow, cook, and appreciate indigenous vegetables like imbuya, ligusha, and umsobo. With support from the Ministries of Agriculture and Education, as well as World Vision Eswatini, this school gardening programme is more than just farming—it’s about preserving heritage, promoting health, and building self-reliance.

👏 “We are not just growing food; we are nurturing knowledge,” said Ms. Nikiwe Dlamini from the Ministry of Agriculture.
