Climate & Sustainable Development Network (CSDevNet), in collaboration with the Brazilian Center for International Relations (CEBRI), the Arapyaú Institute, the Institute for Sustainable Development and International Relations (IDDRI), and the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions (C2ES), hosted a side event at COP30 in Belém, Brazil 🇧🇷 titled “A Solutions Agenda for Climate Action: Sustainable Agriculture and Responsible Mining.”

The session explored concrete solutions to accelerate climate action, highlighting innovations introduced under the COP30 Brazilian Presidency to strengthen the implementation of the Paris Agreement, with a focus on the Energy and Land Transition Agendas.

Representing CSDevNet was Mallam Muhammad S. Ibrahim North-West Coordinator, who shared valuable insights on advancing sustainable agriculture and responsible mining in Nigeria. 🌱💪

🌍 Série : Comprendre la COP et son rôle dans la lutte climatique

🎬 Épisode 0 : Introduction : Pourquoi parle-t-on tant des COP ?

Chaque année, les dirigeants du monde entier se réunissent pour parler climat. Ce grand rendez-vous, c’est la COP, ou Conférence des Parties.
Mais derrière ces trois lettres, se cachent des décisions qui engagent l’avenir de la planète 🌎.

La COP, c’est le moment où presque tous les pays négocient comment réduire leurs émissions, financer les efforts d’adaptation, et protéger les populations face aux dérèglements climatiques.

Depuis la première conférence en 1995, ces rencontres ont façonné l’histoire de la gouvernance climatique mondiale : du Protocole de Kyoto à l’Accord de Paris, elles représentent la diplomatie du climat à son plus haut niveau.

Dans cette série, nous allons découvrir :

1️⃣ Ce qu’est la COP et comment elle fonctionne ;
2️⃣ Les grandes avancées depuis ses débuts ;
3️⃣ L’accord historique de Paris ;
4️⃣ Les défis qui persistent aujourd’hui.

Shaping Futures Academy 2026
Apply Now! The application phase for the Shaping Futures Academy 2026 is now open. The application deadline is 9 November 2025.

The Academy 2026 Schedule
The Shaping Futures Academy 2026 is scheduled between April and October and is organised into three connected learning blocks: three part-time online and one full-time in-person module.

The in-person phase takes place at IDOS in Bonn, Germany, jointly organised with our African partner, Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD Ghana). This phase runs from May to July 2026. It includes two leadership modules that are alternated with two academic modules, one of which is designed and facilitated by CDD Ghana. The phase will end with study trips to Berlin and Brussels.

The online phases (April, September and October 2026) are planned as a part-time programme with an estimated workload of three (3) hours of peer learning per day, utilising a variety of learning formats, combining elements of plenary and group calls, as well as self-paced learning and offline discussions.

You can find all information about the Shaping Futures Academy and the 2026 schedule in the brochure.
