𝟔𝐭𝐡 𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛𝐬’ 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐕𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭
The 𝟔𝐭𝐡 𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛𝐬’ 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 took place on 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟏𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, at Hôtel 2 Février in Lomé under the theme “𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞!” Over 11 schools from across Togo gathered to compete in four major categories: 𝐃𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐞, 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐮𝐞, 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐰, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐬 𝐁 𝐉𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭, which encouraged students to research and solve real community problems using English. This year’s winners include 𝐀𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐳𝐨𝐮 𝐊𝐞𝐳𝐢𝐚 (𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐮𝐞 – 𝐀𝐠𝐨𝐞̀ 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞), 𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐫 𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐮𝐚 (𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 – 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬), 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐊𝐚𝐛𝐨 𝐊𝐨𝐝𝐣𝐨 (𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 – 𝐋𝐲𝐜𝐞́𝐞 𝐀𝐠𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐮), 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐋𝐲𝐜𝐞́𝐞 𝐀𝐠𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐮 also winning Best Talent Show and Overall Best School. In the Medvis B Jackson Scholarship competition, 𝐋𝐲𝐜𝐞́𝐞 𝐀𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐨𝐠𝐨𝐦𝐞́ 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞, 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐋𝐲𝐜𝐞́𝐞 𝐝𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐤𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝟏 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐒 𝐋𝐞 𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤. The President of TETO, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐤𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐚 𝐒𝐞𝐠𝐧𝐨 𝐁𝐨𝐭𝐫𝐢, expressed his gratitude to all students, English teachers, sponsors, and school leaders for their dedication and spirit, stating: “𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒇𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒂𝒍 𝒊𝒔 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒂 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 , 𝒊𝒕’𝒔 𝒂 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎 𝒕𝒐 𝒆𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌 𝒄𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚, 𝒂𝒄𝒕 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒑𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒃𝒍𝒚, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒆𝒙𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒇𝒍𝒖𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒍𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝑬𝒏𝒈𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒉.”
