Elves (1989) is a low-budget Christmas-horror film that mixes slasher elements with bizarre supernatural and sci-fi twists.

The story follows Kirsten, a teenage girl who accidentally summons a demonic elf during a forbidden occult ritual. This creature is part of a bizarre N**i plot—yes, really—to breed a master race using elves and a “pure” human host. As the murderous elf stalks the town, Kirsten teams up with a down-on-his-luck ex-cop turned mall Santa, played by Dan Haggerty, to stop the creature and unravel the conspiracy before Christmas Eve.

It’s known today as a so-bad-it’s-good cult favorite thanks to its wild plot, grimy atmosphere, and unintentionally hilarious dialogue.

It’s pure coincidence that these three are in Silent Night, Deadly Night 3: Better Watch Out! With two of them being in Twin Peaks and the other starring in Mulholland Drive, I thought, “surely, there’s some sort of David Lynch connection.” But no, it’s just awful luck that they all happen to be in one of the most boring movies of all time.
