🛑 Annual Hazardous Waste Collection Activity by Koh Tao Municipality

📅 Date: 31 July 2025
🕒 Time: 15:00 – 17:30
📍 Location: Koh Tao Pier (T-shaped pier)

Please prepare and pack hazardous waste properly according to the examples shown in the images.

Accepted Hazardous Waste Types:
- Light bulbs and fluorescent tubes
- Batteries
- Ink/toner cartridges
- Spray bottles
- Paint containers
- Pesticide and insecticide containers
- Cleaning chemical containers
- Oil or lubricant containers
- Used engine oil containers

⚠️ Please ensure all hazardous items are securely packed in containers or sealed bags to avoid breakage or leakage.
🚫 Unpacked or improperly packed hazardous waste will not be accepted.

Examples of Suitable Packaging:
- Red hazardous waste bins
- Cardboard boxes with sealed lids
- Plastic or sack bags
- Vinyl sheets or plastic board
- Plastic containers with tight lids
- Other secure containers or methods appropriate for safe handling

More Power Cut Announcement for July 2025

Koh Tao PEA will temporarily cut power in the following area to carry out improvements on the high & low-voltage distribution system in July 2025.

11 July 2025;
9.00 AM - 12.00 PM: Sabai Sabai road
1.00 - 4.00 PM: O'Chai Bungalow until end of North Sairee

14 July 2025 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM: Tanote area (from the PEA factory to Aow Leuk, Langkhai, Tanote, and also police station)
15 July 2025 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM: Junjuea area
16 July 2025 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM: Songserm road (including Sensi / Moov road & Save bungalow / Coconut Monkey)

Power will be restored as soon as the works are completed in each area.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

Koh Tao PEA will temporarily cut power (both high and low voltage) 2 times on :

9 July 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM : from The Dearly Chalok to Taa Toh Resort

10 July 2025 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM in the whole Sai Daeng area

Both to carry out improvements on the high-voltage distribution system.

Power will be restored as soon as the work is completed.

การไฟฟ้าเกาะเต่ามีความจำเป็นต้องงดจ่ายกระแสไฟฟ้าทั้งด้านแรงสูงและด้านแรงต่ำ วันที่ 9 กรกฎาคม 2568 ตั้งแต่ The Dearly โฉลกไปถึงสุดตาโต๊ะรีสอร์ทเพื่อปรับปรุงระบบจำหน่ายด้านแรงสูงตั้งแต่เวลา 10.00-13:00 น.

ทั้งนี้หากการปฏิบัติงานแล้วเสร็จการไฟฟ้าก็จะจ่ายกระแสไฟฟ้ากลับระบบในทันทีการไฟฟ้าเกาะเต่าต้องกราบขออภัยในความไม่สะดวกมา ณ ที่นี้ด้วยครับ ขอบคุณครับ

**Postponed to 10.00-11.00**
Power cut on June 27, 2025, from 09:00 to 10:00 AM, there will be the whole island power cut to connect the new submarine cable to the system.

Also, from 09:00 AM to 4:00 PM, power will be cut area by area from in front of the Dearly Chalok to Ta-Toh Resort for high-voltage system maintenance.
Power will be restored earlier if the work is completed ahead of schedule.

เรียนท่านลูกค้าผู้ใช้ไฟฟ้าเกาะเต่าคืนนี้เวลา 00:00-01.00น.การไฟฟ้าเกาะเต่าจะทำการงดจ่ายกระแสไฟฟ้าทั้งเกาะเต่าอีกครั้งเพื่อปลด avr ออกจากระบบนะครับท่านลูกค้าต้องเข้าใจว่าการปฏิบัติงานเป็นไปด้วยความยุ่งยากเพราะเป็นของใหม่ของไฟฟ้าเกาะเต่าเราจะทำให้ดีที่สุดครับ

The submarine cable installation from Koh Phangan to Koh Tao is now complete. System upgrades and safety equipment installation at the Koh Tao power station are also finished. The next step is to test the connection between the submarine cable and the existing generators, to ensure stable electricity for the island.

To do this, Koh Tao PEA will cut power across Koh Tao on 6 June 2025, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM for system testing.

Please inform your customers and prepare your backup generators if needed. No one is allowed to touch or work on any part of the electrical system during this time, as power will be restored immediately after the testing is done.

There may be unexpected power cuts during the following 24 hours while the system is being checked.

Koh Tao PEA will conduct an additional island-wide power outage on 29 May 2025, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM (estimated time). This is the first day the new undersea cable will be integrated into the island’s main electricity distribution system.

On this date, all electricity users using step-up power boxes are requested to adjust their electrical panels to level 1 to accommodate any potential increase in power current. Please avoid doing anything with both high and low voltage systems at that time.

เรียนผู้ใช้ไฟฟ้าบนเกาะเต่าทุกท่าน
การไฟฟ้าส่วนภูมิภาค มีความจำเป็นต้องดับไฟเพื่อปรับเปลี่ยนอุปกรณ์ไฟฟ้าแรงสูงทุกประเภท เพื่อการจ่ายไฟฟ้าผ่านเคเบิ้ลใต้น้ำให้มีความมั่นคงและปลอดภสูงสุด เพื่อเป็นการรองรับการดำเนินธุรกิจการท่องเที่ยวบนเกาะเต่า รวมถึงการเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพการใช้พลังงานให้เต็มรูปแบบ

Following the initial two days of scheduled power cuts, this is an additional plan as part of the ongoing preparations to supply electricity to Koh Tao via the new submarine cable and to install related equipment. The Koh Tao PEA will temporarily cut power to the entire island for two more days: May 25, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and again on May 27, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Koh Tao PEA announcement:

As part of the preparation for supplying electricity to Koh Tao via the new submarine cable and installing related equipment, Koh Tao PEA will temporarily cut the power the entire island on May 21, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and again on May 23, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The new submarine cable is scheduled to be in use starting June 2025.
