KSNG: Students Bamboo Crafts Activity 2025.

KSNG (Karen Student Network Group) has successfully organized a Bamboo Craft Competition for students and parents, and it was a great success!
More than a hundred participants, including students, parents, community leaders, and education leaders from Hpa-An District, joined the event.
Even in today’s modern era, we Karen people must preserve our traditional bamboo craftsmanship, pass it on to the next generation, and continue to refine our skills. Bamboo is not only a symbol of our cultural heritage but also an eco-friendly, renewable resource that supports sustainable living. By valuing our bamboo traditions, we protect our environment and strengthen our identity.A total of eleven schools proudly took part in the competition.
We encourage one another and will continue to teach the new generation about bamboo craftsmanship so that this tradition will never be lost. We sincerely thank everyone who participated.
Let’s keep our bamboo skills alive — for our culture, our environment, and our future.

Karen Wrist-Tying Ceremony – A Tradition for All Karen People

The Karen wrist-tying ceremony is a cherished tradition that brings our people together in unity and love. Just as every nation has its own cultural celebrations, we, the Karen, honor our heritage through this meaningful ceremony—a time to remember who we are and where we come from.

This tradition is not tied to any one religion—it represents our shared identity, our unity, and the strength of our community. Whether we are Buddhist, Christian, or follow another faith, the wrist-tying ceremony belongs to all of us. It is a time to offer blessings, to reconnect with one another, and to celebrate the bonds that make us one family.

Let us cherish this beautiful tradition and pass it on with pride, so the spirit of our culture will continue to thrive for generations to come.
