ในวันนี้เมื่อ 62 ปีที่แล้ว มีประชาชนมากกว่า 250,000 คน มารวมตัวกันที่อนุสรณ์สถานลินคอล์น กรุงวอชิงตัน ดี.ซี. เพื่อร่วม March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom และในวันนั้นเอง ดร. มาร์ติน ลูเธอร์ คิง จูเนียร์ ได้กล่าวสุนทรพจน์อันทรงพลัง “I Have a Dream” ซึ่งกลายเป็นหนึ่งในถ้อยคำที่เปลี่ยนโลก และเป็นสัญลักษณ์แห่ง ความยุติธรรม ความเท่าเทียม และภาวะผู้นำที่แท้จริง
