The Watermelon Harvest
In a sunny orchard nestled in the countryside, a family of three yellow cats—Tommy, Lily, and their little kitten Poppy—prepared for the annual watermelon harvest. The air was filled with the sweet scent of ripened fruit and the hum of buzzing bees.
Tommy, the tallest and strongest of the three, donned his straw hat and inspected the melons. "These are perfect!" he said, tapping one with a paw. "Lily, grab the wagon; it’s time to start."
Lily, quick and agile, wheeled out their little red wagon. Poppy followed close behind, hopping excitedly. "Can I pick one, too, Mama?" Poppy asked, her tiny tail twitching.
"Of course, dear," Lily replied. "But choose one that’s not too heavy for your little paws."
Poppy scanned the patch, her big eyes sparkling, and spotted a watermelon just her size. She hugged it and squealed, "Got it!" Tommy and Lily chuckled, proud of their enthusiastic helper.
Soon, the wagon was piled high with watermelons. Tommy loaded them onto their small wooden truck, carefully arranging them to prevent bruising. Lily tied a banner to the side of the truck that read: “Fresh Watermelons - Sweet as Sunshine!”
The family hopped into the truck and drove down the dusty road toward the village market. Along the way, Poppy waved at passersby, her excitement contagious.
