Pinoy Thaiyo aims to raise awareness of various issues, trends, practices and other events that are of significant importance to the Filipino community in Thailand first and foremost as well as Filipinos in other parts of the world. By having the magazine published in English, we hope that it can also serve as a tool for other nationalities to see the Philippines in a more positive light and gain

a better understanding of Filipinos in general which will ultimately lead to their appreciation of our culture. The name Pinoy Thaiyo came as a result of a play on words that had both Filipino and Thai in them. “Tayo” which is the Filipino word for “We”, had its spelling changed to make it both unique and easily remembered.

In response to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive to digitize and streamline transactions, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) recently launched the OFW Travel Pass replacing the old Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC).

The OFW Travel Pass will serve as a digital pass for the documentation and exit pass of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs). The OFW only needs a mobile phone, to download the eGOVPh application from the Playstore, follow the steps, and register their information.

With the OFW Travel Pass, the processing of OFWs' documents is now faster, more efficient, and more practical.
