China Invested Billions in Nepal’s Hydropower Sector. What Happened Next Will Make Every Indian Proud

For years, China poured billions of dollars into Nepal, hoping to expand its influence in South Asia and gain a strategic foothold in the Himalayan nation. One of its biggest bets was Nepal’s hydropower sector, a market with enormous potential thanks to the country's vast network of rivers and steep mountain terrain.

Many analysts believed China was steadily winning the influence game in Nepal. Large infrastructure projects, generous financing, and growing Chinese involvement in key sectors appeared to strengthen Beijing's position year after year.

Then India made one single move that changed everything.

Nepal possesses one of the world's largest untapped hydropower resources. While the country can generate massive amounts of electricity, its domestic demand remains relatively small. To make these projects financially viable, Nepal must export a significant portion of its power.

That is where geography becomes decisive.

Although Nepal shares a border with China, the rugged Himalayan terrain makes large-scale electricity exports to China extremely difficult and expensive. India, on the other hand, is Nepal's natural and most practical market for power exports.

China invested heavily in dams, hydropower stations, engineering services, and related infrastructure, expecting long-term returns and strategic influence. But India chose not to engage in a costly investment race.

Instead, India introduced a simple yet powerful policy: "it would not import electricity generated from hydropower projects involving Chinese funding, construction, or technical assistance."

There were no dramatic speeches, no diplomatic confrontation, and no billion-dollar counteroffers.

Just one policy decision.

The impact was immediate.

Without guaranteed access to the Indian market, many Chinese-backed hydropower projects suddenly faced serious commercial uncertainty. Since Nepal depends heavily on electricity exports to India, projects that could not sell power across the border became far less attractive for investors.

As the economic realities became clear, several Chinese-linked projects lost momentum. Investment enthusiasm cooled, and some initiatives stalled.

Indian companies quickly stepped into the space being vacated.

Projects that were once expected to strengthen China's influence increasingly moved toward Indian participation. Indian capital, expertise, and long-term partnerships began replacing Chinese involvement in several key developments.

The result was a remarkable strategic victory achieved not through massive spending but through economic leverage and careful policymaking.

The episode serves as a reminder that in geopolitics, influence is not always determined by who spends the most money. Sometimes, understanding market realities and using them wisely can produce far greater results.

Hairbyar's fault is that he is not a dictator, he gave everyone a chance to play a role in Balochistan's freedom movement, BLA being a central organization with BRA, and BLF financial, material and training in early days. Helped but BLF continued to work directly under BLA control except BRA but Dr.ullah Nazar left the interest of leadership. He made BLF work with different identification and different structure in Makran. Stubborn for. Iran's easy target when they withdrew from BLA leadership's reconciliation, easily bought Iran's BLF. Iranian Gujjar insisted on buying BLA, but They failed to do so.

If you look at the previous statements of BNM, it is clear that they have not written a single article to highlight the atrocities of Balochs in Iran but raised the entire social media against Sangat Hirbiyar and the role of Sangat. Assassination has been done.

Friends ask why Hirbiar failed to stop them, the answer is Hirbiar shows a guideline, a policy and a way. Now when a thief is ready to be sold through the doors, who can Hirbiar stop, of Hirbiar. The policy has been transparent and clear since the beginning that Iran and Pakistan are enemies of Balochistan because they both have occupied Baloch land and asking for help from the occupier, hoping for any good will not prove to be repeated for Baloch National Movement and The day Iran and Pakistan's mutual relations will be fixed, they will deal with Baloch jihadists by trading with each other. We have seen Pakistan and Iran join forces to kill hundreds of Balochs with Abdul Malik Regi, his brother. He has either been martyred or picked up and disappeared after joining Pakistan's ISI. Dr Wahid Kambar, Gulzar Imam Shambe are clear examples.

Hirbayar is still warning the Baloch nation and the general public that Pakistan and Iran are our eternal enemies and it is foolish to seek any kind of proximity or support from them but still BLF and their allies are very brave of Iran. Reasoning is still intact even today. Poor Sindhi people were also given statements in support of Iran after the death of Iran's Khamnai. Shafi Barfat had condemned American and Israeli attacks against Iran. Now such shallow minded people. What can be expected from Baloch Movement.

Hirbayar does not have any magic wand to use and bring the BLF and other Iran Nawaz Balochs out of Iran's camp to the real digger of United Balochistan, Baloch has given the ration policy and this is the policy of Tehran and Islamabad to the Balochs. Can stop from becoming proxy and occupier instrument. Hirbiyar does not have Balochistan Visa Immigration Service to stop anyone from becoming proxy of Iran or any other country. Hirbiar could not stop Mehran from corruption but by identifying their corruption. By making Allah Nazar the mediator, the Baloch movement issues were tried to be resolved by Baloch jihadists but Allah Nazar was deceitful in the heart of Allah Nazar they instead of solving the issue they took it to further worse and establishment of UBA The path of Asiullah Nazar gave full support to the suspended group of BLA on his lap and played an exemplary role in strengthening their relations with Iran. Baloch leader is still a proxy to anyone. Can't stop but those who have become proxies, Hirbiar can definitely inform Baloch nation about this harmless policy of them because Hirbiar is responsible for leading this movement towards success and he has given thousands of great sacrifices of Baloch nation to his party, personal. And no condition is ready to redeem the bounty of collective interests. Instead of accepting the source of power BLF, or their allies, the Baloch nation has been recognized as the centre of power and Baloch is choosing their true leadership. And the Baloch nation is the best judge and decision-maker factory. Deciding to carve the leader and give them responsibility and provide public support. Today, any leader or party or general public who agrees with the policy of United Balochistan is a hooligan.

I believe that Hirbiyar is leading this effort to success with the full knowledge of the Baloch people, financial help. In this caravan, those who will compromise on the long-standing demand of united Balochistan are only one in the eyes of the Baloch nation. We will remain limited to the circle of the group and party, and the leader who is feeling the pain of Balochistan and standing with them across the borders of Balochistan, is the true leader of the Baloch nation and stands up to the test of history. We are proud that we Part of the caravan of the great Baloch leader Hirbiyar, who carried forward the ideas and policies of Noori Naseer of this era.
