Leaving the valley behind, I cycled high into the Himalayan mountains through traditional Nepali villages, steep mountain roads, and some very rough dirt tracks that tested both me and the bike.

The climb became so steep in places that I had no choice but to get off and push. Every turn seemed to reveal another hill, another challenge, and another reason to question why I was doing it.

But when I finally reached the summit, the views made every difficult kilometer worthwhile.
