At present, even Cambodian civilians are being surrounded with barbed wire. In accordance with our commitment to the ceasefire, we have taken no retaliatory action. However, the 18 soldiers who were captured 16 days ago remain in detention without release. The deployment of toxic smoke against Cambodian soldiers, as well as the use of cluster munitions in violation of international law, has gone unanswered by the international community. As a small nation, we are treated as if we have no value, and the Cambodian people are enduring profound pain and hardship.

During the past armed conflict between Cambodia and Thailand, our soldiers were exposed to a type of smoke that caused serious and long-lasting health problems. Although the war has ended, we are now facing a tragic and ongoing crisis: our soldiers are passing away one by one,

We believe this smoke may have contained harmful or toxic substances, possibly chemical agents, that continue to affect their health. Unfortunately, we lack the medical resources and technical expertise to identify the exact cause or to treat the affected soldiers effectively.

Despite our appeals, there has been little international attention to this matter, and no effective measures have been taken to investigate or regulate the trade and use of such smoke in conflict zones. This is not only a threat to our veterans but also a potential danger to civilians and future peace.

We urgently request:
1. An independent international investigation into the nature of the smoke used and its long-term health effects.
2. Medical support and treatment programs for the affected soldiers and their families.
3. International action to regulate and ban the trade, use, and production of such harmful substances in warfare.

Yanns Weg – vom Kinderdorf zur eigenen Klinik

Yann hatte früh den Wunsch, Arzt zu werden.
Ein Ziel, das Ausdauer, Disziplin und viele Jahre harter Arbeit bedeutete.
Trotz schwieriger Umstände blieb er dran. Er lernte bis spät in die Nacht, ließ sich von Rückschlägen nicht entmutigen – und schloss schließlich erfolgreich sein Studium ab.

Heute leitet Yann eine kleine medizinische Klinik in einem Dorf in der Nähe von seinem ehemaligen Zuhause, dem Kinderdorf „Light of Hope“.
Er versorgt sowohl die Kinder aus dem Kinderdorf, als auch die Menschen aus der Region mit medizinischer Hilfe und trägt aktiv zur Gesundheitsversorgung seiner Gemeinschaft bei.
Ermöglicht wurde dieser Weg durch eine Patenschaft.

We, the people of Cambodia, want the world to know the truth about the current tensions with Thailand. Cambodia did not start this conflict.

Our nation has suffered deeply in the past — during the time of the Pol Pot regime, millions of our people were killed, and the land was left scattered with dangerous landmines, especially along the Cambodian–Thai border. Many areas have not yet been fully cleared.

Recently, Thai soldiers have entered parts of Cambodian territory where landmines remain. Sadly, accidents have happened — but these are not acts of war. They are the tragic result of a dark chapter in our history.

Cambodia seeks peace, safety, and good relations with all neighbors. We call on the global community to understand the truth, to see that we are not the aggressor, and to support both countries in achieving a peaceful resolution and clearing all remaining landmines.

We are a small country, but our voice matters. The truth matters. Peace matters.

In the lead-up to Khmer New Year, it’s customary for schools across Cambodia to host celebratory events. At ICC School, we embraced this tradition today with great enthusiasm. Both staff and students came together to enjoy a communal lunch, followed by dancing and various games, fostering a joyful and united atmosphere.

Such celebrations are common in Cambodian schools, where traditional games, dances, and communal meals play a significant role in marking the New Year. These activities not only provide entertainment but also strengthen community bonds and cultural appreciation.
