: PACC is currently taking in approximately 4️⃣5️⃣ dogs daily, with most being lost pets. We urgently need our community's help to keep pets with their families instead of in our crowded shelter.
If you or someone you know has lost a pet, you should be checking at PACC regularly. In addition, please register on lost.petcolove.org to use their image recognition technology to see if your pet matches any of the found pets in the shelter or in the community.
Reclaim fees are waived in most cases; we want your pet to be at home.
If you FIND a healthy, friendly lost pet, please follow the following steps to reunite them with their owner BEFORE bringing them to the shelter:
1️⃣ Check for ID! Is the pet wearing a collar and tag? Try texting AND calling the number listed. Also be sure to take the pet to be scanned for a microchip. Any vet or shelter can do this for you for free!
2️⃣ Upload their photo to lost.petcolove.org to file a found report.
3️⃣ Pima County data shows that 63% of lost pets are found within a mile of their own home. Walk the pet around the neighborhood, knock on doors, and ask if anyone knows the pet - chances are, the owners are already looking for them.
4️⃣ Post on local social media like Nextdoor and neighborhood Facebook groups.
5️⃣ Hang flyers! Once you've uploaded the pet's photo on Petco Love Lost (see step 1), you'll be provided with ready-made flyers to print and hang!
PACC is open from noon to 7 p.m. today for owner reclaims, adoptions, foster, and more.
*All animals pictured are on a stray wait. They MAY be available for reservation in the event their owner does not reclaim them. If interested in reserving, please come to PACC.*
