🇰🇭 A message from Cambodia: We choose peace, not lies, not war.
Hello. I’m not a politician. I’m not a news anchor. I’m not someone with power or influence.
I’m just a Cambodian.
But I can’t stay quiet anymore.
Because right now, the world is hearing one version of the story and it’s not ours.
Cambodia does not want war.
We know war.
We have seen it, lived through it, lost everything because of it.
We’ve carried the scars in our bodies, in our families, in our silence.
And we have spent decades trying to rebuild from that pain.
So when Cambodia is accused of aggression, when we are framed as the ones starting conflict, we are hurt. And we are heartbroken because it’s not the truth.
Thailand has accused Cambodia of attacking schools, hospitals, and civilians.
They make us look like monsters in the eyes of the world. But I’m here to say clearly that is not what happened.
Our soldiers did not invade Thai territory.
They defended our border, only after being attacked.
Yet Thailand continues to spread this false story.
They twist facts. They create fear.
And then they wear the mask of the victim while pushing us closer and closer to war.
And this isn’t new.
Thailand has been taking from Cambodia for years.
Our temples, our traditional dances, our language, our art, even our stories.
They take what is ours… and then try to call it theirs.
Now they try to take our truth too.
Cambodia has always stayed quiet.
We’ve always tried to stay peaceful.
But peace does not mean silence.
Peace does not mean letting lies spread across international headlines while we say nothing.
So today, I’m speaking not just for myself, but for every Cambodian who feels unheard.
Every Cambodian who knows the truth but sees the world believe a lie.
To Thailand, stop the lies. Stop the games. Stop twisting the story and pushing this region toward another war we never asked for.
To the world, please… hear us too.
I know Cambodia doesn’t have a big voice.
We’re a small country. We don’t have as many people. We don’t have the global media.
But we have our truth.
Please don’t believe everything you hear.
Please don’t be quick to take sides based on who shouts the loudest.
Look deeper. Ask questions.
And understand, we are not asking for conflict.
We are only asking for peace… and to be respected.
Cambodia wants peace.
Cambodia chooses peace.
But Cambodia will not let its dignity be stolen, not again.
