Do you know some license plates in Thailand cost 25 million baths?

A license plate in Thailand is not just the license plate. Most of the Thai people believe lucky numbers on the plate could protect them from road accident. The most popular numbers are 1, 9, 8, 4, also double and triple numbers.

The faith ignited Ministry of Transport to open bidding on lucky numbers and give money to Road Safe fund. In 2014, '1กก111' license plate got the high price at 25 million baths.

In 2017, Department of Land Transport made the numbers more special. It invited a famous monk to consecrate the license plates and provided magic fabrics to bidders. A strategic worked. The bidding got more attention. You can call it a ‘Thailand only’ lifestyle.

Koh Chang and Koh Kood are popular and famous beautiful islands in Trat province which is located in the eastern of Thailand but, in the city of Trat, it is rarely got the attentiion from the tourists much even if there are many interesting places and worth traveling to. One of them is market!

At Mueng Trat, or in Trat city, there is market called 'Ta Lad Rai Rang'. The location is at the roadside of Sukumvit or the road No.3' that ere, you can find a variety of food and seafood.

Today, as Trat is my hometown, I would love to recommend you my favorite stalls.

Starting with 'Roti', this roti stall is very popular one in Trat, you can see this stall at the beginning of Takad Rai Rang Street. They have many favor of roti a part of the original favor, that mixed with chocolate, chacoal or even the pandan. It also has multiple choices of mincemeat, like egg, corn soup and banana. Just hear like this, I am sure that you are being fond of good food now. hehe

The next one, let me share with you Thai dessert stall. It is absolutely that you can find this sweet everywhere in Thailand but, if you are in Trat and craving for that, let's go to the stall which has no name but is located at the middle area of market. When are in front of this stall, you might not select just only one menu for your stomuch. It looked all yummy and tasty. For me, what I always bring back home is 'Khai Wan' it is boiled egg with syrup. Sometimes, I eat with 'Bua Loy' or dumplings in coconut milk. It is soooooo goood!

The third stall, just move to food I am always falling in love with. The grilled fish stall is place you can find a very very fresh fish serving with tasty seafood sauce and it is not expensive. In this market, there are 2 stalls selling this. Just pick which one that looked fit to your palate..

The last one, it is seafood that is crab and crayfish. Actually if you go to this market in the morning you will see lot of raw fish, crab, shrimp and crayfish in every size but if you cannot go, in the evening you would meet many ready-to-eat crabs and pickled crayfish that can be cooked in several dishes.

In Trat city, it does not has only market to go but many places, I would guide you next time. But, now let's enjoy and try food at Ta Lad Rai Rang first.

Where to find a yummy Thai-Muslim food near Khao San road? 😋

Ninety-eight restaurants were listed on first Michelin Guide Bangkok, but all Bangkokians know there are many more restaurants and street food stalls worth to try.

Our first recommendation is Chakrapong alley, a small and charming Muslim community located at Trok Surao, 5 mins walk from Khao San road. We can find delicious Thai-Muslim food with reasonable price here.

My favorite is rice and curry stall which stands on top of the alley. You can should 1 to 3 curries per dish. My recommended curry is Stir fried Chicken with ginger, salted yolk and shrimp, or ‘Gai-pad-prick-King’ in Thai. Today we saw 2 foreigners finished the dishes so quickly, I think most of you must love the food like them.

Next stall sells Yen-ta-four, a noodle with tofu sauce, which easy eating hot soup. The third is S.M Lokhande Muslim restaurant that sells traditional Muslim food such as Roti, Hot Tea, Beef Tail soup and Toast. Most of stalls open from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

After finishing the dishes, you can walk to the end of the alley and see a beautiful Chakrapong mosque where the center of the community is.

'Sawasdee' (how to say 'Hello' in Thai) and welcome everyone to our page 'Kiew Wan Guide'. This is where you can find our life style stories in Thai as local people do.

First of all, let me introduce to know what is 'Kiew Wan Guide', it is the name of Thai famous and popular dish. It is made with green curry and coconut milk as soup, we also put some meat inside but mostly is chicken (it is pronouned as KAI, similar as Guide), mixed with Thai herb like the eggplant, sweet basil, and chilly. But someone may add more ingredient which is what they like and we serve with rice or rice noodle.

If anyone is travelling in Thailand now and looking for thai dish experience, you can find it almost everywhere you visit in Thailand. Just prepare your toung for the hot spicy taste.
