เมื่อโลกไม่เคยหยุดเปลี่ยนแปลง "บ้าน" ยังหมายถึงสถานที่เดิมอยู่หรือไม่?
ผ่านเรื่องเล่าของความทรงจำ การพลัดถิ่น และการดำรงอยู่
A Time to Live ร้อยเรียงภาพยนตร์นานาชาติสามเรื่องจากอิหร่าน นิวซีแลนด์ และสหราชอาณาจักร แต่ละเรื่องพาเราเข้าไปสำรวจความหมายของ "บ้าน" ในมุมมองที่แตกต่าง เผยให้เห็นว่าบ้านอาจไม่ใช่สถานที่อันมั่นคง หากคือสิ่งที่เราจดจำ เฝ้าปกป้อง จำต้องจากลา และค่อย ๆ สร้างขึ้นใหม่ครั้งแล้วครั้งเล่า

หลังการปราบปรามการประท้วงในอิหร่าน กลุ่มนักศึกษาและประชาชนหันมาใช้รูปแบบการต่อต้านรูปแบบใหม่ ด้วยการบันทึกเหตุการณ์ความไม่สงบจากหลังหน้าต่างบ้านของพวกเขาเอง เมื่อหญิงคนหนึ่งถูกยิงขณะกำลังบันทึกภาพเหตุการณ์จากหน้าต่างรถยนต์ของเธอ ซาลิเมียนและปาร์กปาวาร์จึงส่งข้อความถึงเธอผ่านวิดีโอ เล่าย้อนถึงความทรงจำของพวกเขาเอง พร้อมตั้งคำถามว่า การปฏิวัติสามารถเริ่มต้นขึ้นจากหลังหน้าต่างได้หรือไม่

เมื่อเจ็ดปีก่อน องค์กรชุมชนบนเกาะไวเฮเกได้เริ่มต้นภารกิจเพื่อกำจัด “สโตต” สัตว์นักล่าที่กำลังทำลายประชากรนกพื้นถิ่นของนิวซีแลนด์อย่างต่อเนื่อง ด้วยความร่วมมือจากชุมชน ชาวอีวี และผู้สนับสนุน ปัจจุบันสโตตกำลังลดจำนวนลง ขณะที่เหล่านกพื้นถิ่นก็เริ่มกลับคืนสู่เกาะอีกครั้ง

Introducing “A Time to Live,” one of the special programs of SDOC BKK 2026, featuring a collection of award-winning short documentary films.
What does it mean to call a place home when the world is constantly changing? Through stories of memory, migration, and survival, A Time to Live brings together three internationally acclaimed films from Iran, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. Each approaches the idea of home from a different perspective, revealing it not as a fixed place, but as something we remember, protect, leave behind, and continually recreate. In an age of uncertainty, these films remind us that perhaps home is not where we belong, but something we are always becoming.

Following crackdowns on protests in Iran, a group of students and civilians turn to a new form of resistance: filming the unrest from behind their windows. When a woman is shot while recording from her car window, Salimian and Parkpavar address her in a video letter, recalling their own memories and asking: Can a revolution begin from behind windows?

Seven years ago, a community organisation on Waiheke Island set out to eradicate stoats that have been decimating New Zealand’s native birdlife. With iwi, community, and sponsor support, the stoats are retreating and the birds are coming back.

Sasi owns and runs a Thai restaurant in the historic Covered Market in Oxford. After 20 years of living in the UK she gets to reflect on her journey after she brought her mother Amnuay to live with her in England. The film charts Sasi’s journey from arriving in Oxford with nothing and starting a business whilst Sasi contemplates her future and trying to answer: Where is her real home?
