Wireless microphones operating in the UHF band — including devices such as:

1. Wireless handheld microphones
2. Bodypack microphones
3. Camera-mounted or mobile phone-connected microphones
4. Conference room microphones

must be certified by the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) before they can be sold or used in Thailand.

Each certified product must display the NBTC certification label, which includes the type approval number, year of certification, and the registered operator’s identification code, as officially issued by the NBTC Office to ensure that the product meets the required telecommunications equipment and safety standards.

TIS 62368 Part 1-2563 Audio/video, information and communication technology equipment - Part 1: safety requirements

TV (Television)
TISI certification is required for TVs sold in Thailand to ensure their safety. There must be a mark indicating that it has been certified to the TIS 62368 Part 1-2563 standard.

TIS 62368-1 Part 1–2563 is a safety standard covering audio/video (AV), information and communication technology equipment, including all types of televisions with a rated voltage not exceeding 600 V.

SDoC (Supplier's Declaration of Conformity)

Telecommunication equipment under the Supplier‘s Declaration of Conformity (SDoC) scheme, which is defined by the NBTC technical standards or technical requirements, is not required to register or certify such equipment. However, the supplier must provide a written assurance that the equipment complies with the standard or requirement using the Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity (SDoC) form.

TIS 824–2551: Switches for household and similar fixed electrical installations : general requirements

This standard applies to general-purpose electrical switches which are to be operated manually only on alternating current (AC), having a rated voltage not exceeding 440 V and a rated current not exceeding 63 A, for use in residential and similar fixed electrical installations, both indoors and outdoors.

Main components of the standard
1. General requirements: Defines basic switch characteristics such as manual operation, structural specifications, and intended use.

2. Electrical properties: Specifies voltage limits, current ratings, frequency compatibility, and material resistance requirements.

3. Safety testing: Covers insulation resistance, electric leakage, heat resistance, flame retardation, and arc suppression capabilities.

4. Environmental testing: Evaluates switch performance under varying humidity and temperature conditions.

5. Marking and labeling: Products compliant with this standard must display the TIS 824–2551 certification mark clearly on the label.

Why is NBTC certification important in Thailand?

The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) regulates the broadcasting and telecommunications industry in Thailand.
The NBTC is responsible for issuing licenses and controlling the use of frequencies and radio communications equipment in telecommunications and radio communications services in order to ensure that the users receive quality, efficient, timely, reliable, and fair services in accordance with the NBTC’s technical standards and requirements.

NBTC certification is required for your broadcasting and telecommunications equipment because it is a mandatory requirement to legally sell your products in Thailand.

This standard covers plugs and socket-outlets, fixed or portable, for use in alternating current with a rated voltage not exceeding 250 V and a rated current not exceeding 16 A, intended for residential and similar general use, indoors or outdoors, where the ambient temperature does not exceed 40 °C.

Many brands of mobile phones sold in Thailand are imported from abroad. Each model is developed to have features that can meet the needs of users as much as possible. In addition to the desired features and performance, the quality and standards of the mobile phone are also important.

All mobile phone sales or imports must be certified by NBTC before they can be sold in Thailand. There must be a certification label for telecommunication equipment and equipment standards. The NBTC office will issue a certification specifying the certificate number, the year of certification, and the supplier's identification code.
