เป็น (bpen) in Thai is used as a verb to be (is/am/are)

📍Nationality: Used when talking about someone's nationality,
ฉัน/ผม เป็น คน ไทย : chán/pǒm bpen kon Thai
= I am Thai.

📍Disease / Illness: Used when someone has a disease or illness
ฉัน/ผม เป็น ไข้ : chán/pǒm bpen kâi
= I have a fever.

📍Occupation / Job: Used when talking about a person's job or profession,
