It was my pleasure to share my knowledge and information about the Loy Krathong and Lantern festival this Thursday. We were exploring the history and beliefs behind this sacred and world famous festival ❤️

We went through a lot of topics from why the Krathong has to be in lotus-shape to why some people put a coin, a lock of hair and a clipping of nail in their Krathong 🥰

We had a good time talking, learning and sharing our experiences and of course!! Asking what they were curious about 😇

If you have anything you wonder about Thailand, Thai traditions and Thai culture. You're most welcome to share your curiosity with me, I'll make a topic and we will have a nice talk together 🤗

What do I do while waiting for a student?

I think you might have noticed that some Thai people are totally addicted to the inhaler especially the green one. And yes!! I'm one of them 🤣

So, this is what I normally do while waiting ...
..

✴️ Verb + วนไป (won-bpai) ✴️
= Do something repeatedly

วน (won) = repeat, circle, go around

This is kind of a casual phrase to say. Try to say this with your Thai friends and I'm sure they will be amazed with your Thai!

Some of the moments from the event yesterday. We learned about the Loy Krathong festival in many aspects. Why do we release the lanterns and banana baskets. The history and the origin of it and also some other stuff.

We had a great time learning and talking about the topic. Sharing their experience as well.

เมื่อคืนไปลอยกระทงที่เมืองเชียงใหม่

Last night went to float the banana basket in Chiang Mai city

สวยมาก มีโคม มีพลุ และมีคนเยอะมาก
sǔai mâak mii koom mii plú láe mii kǒn yér mâak
It was very beautiful. There were lanterns, fireworks and a lot of people
..

ลอย (loi) : to float
กระทง (grà-tong) : handmade lotus shape banana basket decorated with a candle, incense sticks and flowers
..

Thai believe that to float a banana basket is to float away misfortune and also is the way to sorry to the goddess of water for overusing water and polluting the river throughout one year.
..

Some people put some small coins, a lock or hair or a clipping of nails which symbolising bad luck.

Charlie has white and brown fur.

His head is fluffy.

ชาร์ลีน่ารักมาก

Charlie is very cute.

ฉันชอบพูดเสียงสองกับชาร์ลี

I like to use my second voice with Charlie.

*เสียงสอง (sǐang-sǒrng) is when you speak with unnatural higher voice than your normal voice. Usually when you meet something cute and adorable 🥰

Today I had a very long day at the Labour court.

But I think I did well.

Even though there were only 2 of us but we kept going 🥰🤟

We had a great talk about Walking and Transportation in both Thailand and Russia 👍

Exchanging our culture and knowledge is fun and really somehow eye-opening. We were talking about several factors like weather, how the cities were built based on the change of transport technologies. Very interesting to know something amazing from the other side of the world 🌍

We also talked about how many steps Thais walk in a day with statistics data!
