The SUPPORT Foundation has announced its 18th annual Khon performance, a grand tradition held under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. This year’s show, titled “Sathyapalee”, unveils a new chapter of the Ramakien epic, telling the dramatic tale of the monkey king Vali’s betrayal.

Thailand has just unveiled the Green Tourism Plan 2030, a bold roadmap to place the nation’s destinations among the world’s top 100 sustainable tourism hotspots by 2030.

With the theme “Igniting the Path to Global Green Success”, the plan balances economic growth, environmental care, and social responsibility — while giving Thailand’s tourism sector a powerful global boost.

A highlight of the initiative is the new Thailand Good Travel sustainability certification logo — a badge of honour for eco-conscious destinations, communities, small hotels, and tour operators that meet global sustainability standards.

Chiang Mai Crowned Safest City in Southeast Asia 2025

According to the latest Safety Index Number 2025, Chiang Mai has emerged as the safest city in Southeast Asia with an impressive score of 78.2. The northern Thai city, known for its serene landscapes and cultural richness, narrowly edged out Singapore, which scored 77.4.

Hanoi followed in third place with 65.9, while Bangkok ranked fourth at 60.7, showing that Thailand dominated the list with three cities in the top five. Pattaya also made it into the ranking with 53.9, placing fifth overall.

Other major cities such as Ho Chi Minh City (48.5) and Jakarta (47.3) landed in the middle of the list, while Kuala Lumpur (39.5) and Manila (35.5) trailed at the bottom.

The results reflect how different urban centers in the region are balancing rapid growth with public safety. With Chiang Mai and Singapore leading the way, the rankings highlight not only tourism appeal but also residents’ quality of life in these cities.
