At Wildside we understand that not only every musician but every release requires different types of support in order for it to be successful. We take a flexible and collaborative approach, by first listening to what our artists goals and needs are and then co-creating a bespoke release strategy to fit.

We don’t judge the success of a release purely on the number of streams but also on the degree to which we fulfilled those goals. 💫

Most emerging independent artists don’t make their money on streaming, in fact over 90% of all streaming revenue from DSPs goes to the top 1% of artists (most of which are signed to major labels) so, we direct our strategy toward growing a focused and loyal fan base within their local scene which not only creates the foundation for steady organic growth but also generates revenue for or artists at a stage when streaming will not.

As a non-profit organization our mission is not only to release inspiring music, but also to use the power of community which is created around music as an agent of positive change in the world. 🙌

Started as a university project to gather friends around the decks, WILDSIDE reappeared years later as an event company while being locked down in magical Thailand, drawing on its unique music vibes and sharing playful rhythms.

Proving its ability to create music independently, collaborate with Thai musicians and build community across cultures by speaking a truthful and heartwarming language. 🧡

The role of record labels has changed drastically over the decades, even more so with the widespread adoption of digital streaming platforms.

Gone are the days of artists signing away their music for multimillion dollar advances, and locking into multi-album deals.

In the digital streaming age, where the plethora and diversity of indie music is being drowned out by major labels we are in need of a new model for how labels operate...
Labels need to be nimble, reactive and flexible to really serve the creative purpose of artist/label collaboration.

Our main thing is transparency - with simplified contracts you don’t need a lawyer to decipher. And no 360 deals.

Lou Reed and his “Walk on the Wild Side” song told the stories of marginalised people from the underground of New York city whose stories were not normally being told and bringing them into the light.

We have a similar dream - to release, share and give a voice to music which isn’t being heard and which creatively inspires us. ☺️🙌✨

To ‘take a walk on the wildside’ was made famous by Lou Reed back in the early 70s, was a countercultural anthem which was a truly risque and groundbreaking song of the the, touching on taboo topics..

There would be no music industry without artists, and frankly, we’re sick of seeing labels which don’t operate in a way that values the life blood of the industry.

Majority share of royalties and returning ownership of their masters are just a couple of ways that we at Wildside are lifting the standard of the artist-label relationship.

As a non-profit company, we’re not here to squeeze every penny out of a artist but rather to support their unique talent allowing creative freedom to be fully expressed through their music.
