🇹🇭 THAILAND VISA-FREE UPDATE — FINAL RULES PUBLISHED ✈️

Thailand has officially published the new entry rules in the Royal Gazette on 31 August 2026. The special 60-day visa-free scheme for 93 countries/territories is being cancelled. The new system takes effect 15 days after publication — 15 September 2026.

🟢 30 DAYS VISA-FREE — 60 countries/territories:

Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Bulgaria, Bhutan, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Fiji, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Indonesia, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Malaysia, Maldives, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Türkiye, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and United States.

🇸🇨 Seychelles
🇲🇺 Mauritius

🔵 VISA ON ARRIVAL:
🇦🇿 Azerbaijan
🇧🇾 Belarus
🇷🇸 Serbia

🚗 Important for land-border entries: travelers using these visa-exemption schemes through land-border immigration checkpoints are generally limited to 2 entries per calendar year. For the 30-day group, nationals of Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia and Singapore are exempt from that two-entry restriction, along with any other nationality specifically designated by the Interior Minister.

⚠️ The new 30-day and 15-day exemptions are specifically for tourism. The old special 60-day arrangement had also covered certain short-term business and urgent/necessary work purposes, so travelers coming for something other than tourism should check the appropriate visa or entry permission.

📌 Travelers who entered Thailand under the previous rules before the new measures take effect keep the period of stay already granted to them.

🚨 Thailand DTV Visa Update 🇹🇭

From 31 August 2026, two important changes apply to DTV applications:

1️⃣ A criminal-record clearance certificate is now required.
2️⃣ You must apply in a country where you are a national OR permanent resident.

That means you can no longer simply travel to another country just to submit a DTV application unless you are a national or permanent resident there.

📌 Requirements can vary by Thai embassy/consulate, so always check the official Thai e-Visa website or the embassy where you’re applying before submitting.
