The designer of "Ordinary Me", Vatcharis ArmArs Thanomsub , shared his thoughts on his first crowdfunding experience on Kickstarter through his page. We are very appreciated. Thank you for joining us on this campaign. 😁

The Ordinary Me campaign on Kickstarter has officially come to an end! 😊
Although my role was mostly focused on promotion, this experience has been incredibly exciting.
I don’t know if I’ll ever get another chance like this, or if I do, when it might happen. But following the journey of a game I designed has been thrilling and rewarding. 🙂
Over the course of 10 days, Ordinary Me successfully reached its funding goal of $2,400 USD within the first 24 hours 🧡🎉 and ended the campaign at 118% funded.
I had a feeling that after the first 100 copies sold out, the backing pace would slow down.
There could be many reasons for this, but one possible factor is the Make 100 campaign—a special Kickstarter initiative. Once the 100 exclusive copies with extra rewards were gone, the urge to back immediately may have decreased (just my analysis 🙂).
That said, from the start, our main goal was simply to get funded, and achieving that is already an amazing milestone! 🧡🎉
We had 117 backers in total, with about 56% from Thailand and 44% from other countries. That’s a really special number for me! 😊
It’s incredible to see this level of support from Thai backers on a platform with such a structured process, and at the same time, nearly half of the backers were international, despite our limited promotion.
For all backers, you can stay updated through the Velalen page for further news.
(I’ll also keep sharing updates here, but when it comes to technical aspects like the Pledge Manager, I don’t have much knowledge—so following the publisher’s updates might be easier.)
I truly appreciate every single one of you!
I’m incredibly happy that I got to create this game, and I’m proud of how beautifully it turned out. It’s truly a collector’s piece.
Believe it or not, this game has been in development for over three years since the initial kick-off. So much has happened along the way, but I’m grateful that it’s finally coming to life! 🎉
Throughout this time, I’ve also been battling my own mental health challenges—it hasn’t been easy when those moments hit.
But I see it as a natural part of life, something that can happen to anyone. What’s important is finding a way to live with it in balance (though in reality, that’s never easy).
That feeling—the struggle and acceptance—became the core message I wanted to express through this game.
I’m truly glad I made Ordinary Me.
I believe that once you play it, you’ll experience the little narrative details I carefully integrated into the gameplay. Even if just a little, I hope it resonates with you. 🧡
Next week, DNR Board Game will open pre-orders, so if you missed the campaign but are interested, stay tuned!
And finally, to everyone who supported Ordinary Me on Kickstarter over these past 10 days—thank you so much! 🙂
