Laguna Phuket Marathon 2025 Presented by Supersports
Officially Kicks Off
Phuket Welcomes Over 8,000 Runners from 50 Countries
for a Two-Day International Race Festival
Phuket, Thailand – 14 June 2025 – One of Asia’s most scenic and anticipated international running events, the Laguna Phuket Marathon 2025 Presented by Supersports, officially launched today at Laguna Grove in Phuket. Welcoming more than 8,000 runners from over 50 countries, the two-day event celebrates its 19th edition with an exciting and expanded program that reflects both global prestige and strong local collaboration.
Certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), the Laguna Phuket Marathon continues to uphold its reputation as a world-class racing event. This year’s success is fueled by strong partnerships between public and private sectors, including Phuket Province, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Laguna Phuket, Supersports, and many more—working together to position Phuket as a leading sports tourism destination on the global stage.
With the vibrant theme “Run Sunset… Run Sunrise,” this year’s event is split into two signature race blocks. The excitement began today (Saturday, 14 June) with Run Sunset, a lively and family-friendly evening featuring the Kids Run (2 km), Fun Run (5 km), and Mini Marathon (10 km). The sunset atmosphere, filled with cheering supporters and diverse participants, set the tone for what’s to come.
The adrenaline continues tomorrow morning (Sunday, 15 June), starting at 4:00 AM with Run Sunrise—the ultimate test of endurance. This morning race block features the Half Marathon (21.0975 km), Full Marathon (42.195 km), and Marathon Relay, giving participants the chance to push their limits individually or as part of a team.
The racecourse itself remains one of the highlights of the event. Runners will journey through the diverse landscapes of Phuket—passing rubber plantations, peaceful beaches, local villages, and cultural landmarks. The course is fully supported with hydration stations, medical services, and enthusiastic community volunteers who help deliver a world-class experience.
This year also marks a new milestone with the introduction of a dedicated Age Group Award for runners aged 70 and above, available in both the Half and Full Marathon categories. The initiative aims to inspire senior participants to maintain healthy and active lifestyles.
Mr. Sophon Suwannarat, Governor of Phuket Province, expressed his pride in the province hosting the event “Phuket is honored to once again welcome runners from around the world. This marathon not only showcases our island’s potential as a global sports tourism hub, but also strengthens local communities and promotes public health and sustainable economic growth. We invite everyone to experience the warmth, charm, and beauty of Phuket through this world-class race.”
Mr. Paul Wilson, Managing Director of Laguna Phuket, added: “Laguna Phuket is committed to making this event more than a race. It’s a movement toward a healthier future—supporting well-being, sustainability, and community. We are proud to offer participants a truly unforgettable experience both on and off the track.”
Mr. Roman Floesser, The CEO of Laguna Phuket Marathon Presented by Supersports, shared his excitement: “This year marks an exciting step forward. We’re proud to raise the bar once again, creating an event that’s inclusive for elite athletes and casual runners alike.
