Honest post

I’ve not been losing weight and I really struggled the first few weeks as to why I wasn’t losing weight. This was my main goal for coming out to Thailand.

When I’m working out I’m struggling with my temperature regulation (overheating and not being able to cool myself down) this was also happening at home so it not the heat. When I do start to overheat my heart rate spikes and fatigue kicks in. Which means after 30 minutes i need to take bigger rests in between sets or exercises. So will need to go see a doctor when I’m home to try and get answers.

But what I have noticed is I’ve lost some inches, I’ve gone down a clothes size (XL to L). When I came out I was out of breath and in pain just walking upstairs. Now I can walk up stairs completely normally. I’ve slowly been increasing my weights. Nowhere near what I could years ago but will hopefully get there again.

Most of all I’m starting to feel like me again. I’m enjoying life again and not wanting to hide away, disgusted in myself. It’s small steps in the right direction.

Week 9 Show up and try

This week was not letting my head tell me I cant.

I pushed myself to try and do more classes. I gave/did what I could.

I’ve increased weights, I can skip, do a single leg hip thrust, and probably a lot more than compared to last week.

I even managed to take 12 minutes off the walk to Palai Pier.

So what will my penultimate week here hold

⭐️ Get a tan 😂 - as no one’s going to believe I’ve been in Thailand for 3 months if I come home still white.

⭐️ start running again (10K training ) - I signed up to do a 10K in July as something to push myself. But honestly I hate running. No running has been done apart from the little jog made me do on Friday

⭐️ add more weight to reps - I’m lifting more than I was 4 weeks ago but no where near what I was able to lift 6 years ago. So I want to push more in the few weeks I’ve got left

⭐️ re-attempt big Buddha run/walk - first attempt I managed 0.97k up to the viewpoint cafe. So will attempt it again to see if I can get further up

⭐️ not to stress about going home/falling back into bad habits - so I feel like when I go home I’m going to lose all the momentum and changes I’ve made coming out to Thailand. And I don’t want to, so if you know me IRL please drag me to the gym, a walk or run

Can't believe I've been on Fitness Street for 2 months already. And just finished my 1st month properly training. The difference just a few weeks make. And the people you meet definitely make the journey better

January Recap 📍Fitness Street Thailand I’ve been here now for 5 full weeks. That never ending January feeling hits differently when you’re not in the cold and dark. But it’s not been easy. Trying to exercise again in 30c heat 🥵 it’s definitely made it harder but if I want to achieve my goal to lose weight I need to push through. Had a few wobbles thinking I’ve made a massive mistake coming out here away from family. But you can’t grow in the place that allowed you to rot. February is a new month. To get better, to push myself more, and stop the negative self talk

I’ve been terrible at remembering to actually post anything. So a little progress update that doesn’t include scales/weight

So on January 1st I walk the 3K down to the Pier from fitness street. I only managed to walk down and stayed to watch the sunrise. Then getting a grab back to my accommodation. So today I wanted to actually time myself walking down and back. It was tougher as I didn’t leave until 7am so had the sun on my face and back the whole time. But for doing just over 6K I don’t think that’s to bad. Hopefully I can get the time down and possible run down before I leave at the end of March
